Chris, my dad bought a set of katana irons some time back and I took it for a round thinking it was real and very proud of myself. The heads DID FALL OFF. Worse thing is it wasn't from hitting the ball, the 9 iron head hit another iron when I stuffed it back into the bag and it fell right off :surprize:

Are these fakes from Japan or China? If they are from Japan, I would say they did a pretty bad job :surprize: I have seen the Chinese ones...geez..they even spell letter for letter and detail to "similarness" was frightening. As good as their fake branded bags and watches !! (hmm the watches are good...i have a few :whistle: )

Yep, thats the reason why I felt a new shaft was needed. When I put a nice and easy swing on the shaft, the NV 65 flat out performs. Its more unpredictable when I go for it on par 5s. Hearing stories about how "boardy" and stiff the 757 is, I think this is what I need :smile1: A new challenge perhaps? Anyway, will post how the combo works when my club arrives!!

I would think feel wise the composite drivers will lose out. I am sure trx 370 is top quality stuff but basically the technology is the same as other composite drivers. I have tried a few composite drivers, fusion, mp-001, yonex cyberstar but not the TRX 370. They are all long and very forgiving, but on contact they all felt the same : somewhat dead. The x-drive on the other hand produces a lively crack that many here can testify to. I tested it 6mths ago and I still can't forget how good it felt. Although I have an mp-001 which I think is a great club, but I don't like it. Only bought it cuz its good value and the only thing I could afford. Distance and forgiveness wise, the mp-001 and other composite clubs would be hard to beat but if you are looking for the a combination of FEEL, sound, distance and forgiveness, the XD 390 should be a perfect choice. Well, my 2 cents .

Do these shafts play similar? I'm using the nv65 now and it works really nice for me. I'm getting great mid-high trajectory and distances with my mp-001. Can someone describe the characteristics of both these shafts to me? (torque, kick, and anything else thats helpful) I was thinking of getting a slightly heavier shaft and came across a driver with the 757x so I thought i should try it out. Will the 757X be too much shaft for a 110-115 ss? Thanks guys.

Chris, I bought both the retail and tour together, wanting to keep the one that suited me....the retail has a the longer piece behind which didn't suit my eye...didn't even try a putt with the retail cuz of that. Plus i liked the extra weight on the tour blue. As you can see the retails for sale now..but i'm definitely with you on the quality of ANY GD japan putters. One word.. amazing quality..oops thats two. :-D
