What is your all time favorite ping Anser putter model?
Anser 2. Close second is my old Anser manganese bronze. I can imagine I'm Seve at St Andrews in 1984 with it...

Rolla's Bag (New to TSG)
I know the feeling. I also tend to use stuff that is played by a certain well-known player. In 1997 I used MP14 irons, with an MP29 2 iron, as I liked the look of the long irons better. I also used a Cobra Deep Face Steelhead driver and Cleveland RTG wedges. Although at the time I used an Anser 2 putter and a Taylor Made Flex Twist 3 wood the rest of the bag was a dead copy (other than the 3 iron) of a certain player.. Can you guess who? I then switched to a Titleist 975D driver, and started messing with Cameron putters - the start of a bit of an obsession.. Vokey wedges eventually replaced the Clevelands as the wedge of choice, and the irons were changed last year to Nike blades... Easy to work it out, eh? Despite ribbing from playing partners, all of my club choices were personal, and based on what I liked and what worked. I wish I could say I was modelling my clubs and game on el Tigre, but sadly not; I need to shoot about 6 strokes a round lower.... I am also fussy with my clubs. I like a clean, unfussy look, and I like clubs that work for me.

Best Wear Spot
No pics, but I once had a set of Mizuno TP9s, that I used as a 16 yr old scratch and county player that were amongst the most knackered ever... The 8 thru PW not only had the bottom parts of the faces worn smooth up to about the fifth groove, but you had to have a good memory as the sole stampings had disappeared. The 7 thru 5 had pretty much gone past the wear spot phase, and had 'wear areas' on the face, with virtually no grooves left and smeared numbers on the soles. The 4 thru 2 all had nice 1p piece sized wear spots.. The thimg was, I used those irons for 2 whole seasons, the latter part of the second in that state. And the performance wasn't that much affected after I regrooved the short and mids. People used to howl with laughter when they saw them. I was a pretty decent player then though, so I didn't worry too much. I've only recently changed to a set of Nikes, and they still look nearly brand new. I'll see if I can post a pic of my now-retired MP14s - the 4 and 5 are pretty worn..

mat562's bag
:smile1: New to this forum, and this is my first post. As an opener, my clubs of choice are as follows: Driver: Titleist 775J.VS 10.5 w/ 44.5" Grafalloy Blue S 3 Wood: Taylor Made Tour Preferred (1991) Tour Spoon 13 w/ FlexTwist Graphite S Irons: Nike forged blades, 2-PW all standard loft, 1 deg flat, +1/4" TT DG X100. Wedges: Titleist Vokey Oilcans, 56.14 and 60.04. Both a degree strong and with soles ground to reduce bounce. Putter: Either Ping Anser 2 or Ping Pal Not very exciting I know, but I tend to find something I like and stick with it. I've used four other sets of Mizunos (2 sets of TP9s, TP11 and MP14) in the last 18 years and have used Cleveland 588s for the last 14 years until recently..
