  1. Thanks guys, PM's replied to. If anybody out there still has just a head that's looking for an owner then get in touch.
  2. Am looking for an r7 tour/tp head in good condition 8/10 +. Preferred loft 9.5. Have got a shaft in mind, so head only would be ideal. Am not concerned about weight kit/headcover etc. If you've pictures please email to [email protected] Thanks
  3. Whilst playing this w/e I made the mistake of hitting a friend’s r7 tour. Am currently playing a 580xd tour 9.5 with a speeder 757 ‘s’ shaft and was reasonably happy. However I’ve been having problems losing balls high right, but had put it solely down to technique – tendancy to drop the right shoulder and get under and across it a little. I then however hit my friend’s r7 and fell in love. The spec was as follows: R7 tour 9.5 (2x2g & 2x7g weights) with accra 65 ‘s’ shaft (white with a grey top) tipped one inch. Compared to my 580 tour this was obviously quite a light weight set-up, but I found it far easier to control, far more forgiving, and flight & dispersion were good. I hit about 30 balls with it and then played 9 holes to check it wasn’t just the ’range effect’. So I’m thinking of switching to a similar set-up. However as Accra no longer make the shaft I haven’t been able to find one to buy, or get specs to look for equivalents. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions – maybe something by GD or a Diamana? Also if anyone could shed some light on why the performance is so different that would be useful. My swing speed with driver is around 111mph and I’m index 4. Also if anyone has an R7 Tour/tp head (in good condition) they’re looking to sell on let me know… Thanks
  4. Don't know what the deal is with the xxx's in your serial number but a friend of mine who worked in the Taylormade tour van over here in Europe (up until last year) told me that not all the tour clubs start with the same serial number sequence as often suggested. I've got a 580xd tour with the serial number PACKMAN - photos on this link: http://www.tourspecgolf.com/modules.php?na...ewtopic&t=14451 Got my buddy to check it out and he thinks it most likely came from the US tourvan - most probably one of the pros had it custom done, which apparently isn't uncommon.
  5. Thanks for the help. I'm pretty sure it's legit due - the overall quality exceptional and some buddies of mine who work for TM in the UK have given it the once over and they say it's good. They're clueless as to the serial number though! Any idea on how i can check the tip size - is there an easy way of telling?
  6. Apologies for the delay in getting these up - hope it works! Anyway here they are. Any help in identifying what any of this means would be great. It's got a fuji speeder, black graphics in it. Have had the club now for a month or so and am loving it. Much heavier head than my retail xd and completely different feel - not at all hollow. Have tried to determine what the tip size is but am not sure if this should be obvious or not? face Sole Serial number Toe Headcover
  7. Ok, i've done some pics. However am not sure how i go about posting them. Have checked out the FAQ's but doesn't make much sense. If anybody can help then i'll get them asap. Thanks...
  8. Will supply pictures in the next day or so. Looks very similar to the pics on the link. Has the line under the .5, the same smooth cartridge, the TP face markings and certainly sits square compaired to my retail 580xd. Only diffs are that it's got 'Titanium' on the toe (as oppose to TP) and that the serial number is 'PACKMAN'. Will check on the tip size as not sure on that count. Certainly a lot heavier than my retail club. Is it normal to have non standard serial numbers? I've seen elsewhere on the site a pic of a taylormade tour 3 wood that had a serial number 'USA'? It was in the tour bags thread.
  9. Hi, just got hold of what i think is a 580xd tour. It's got the flat weight cartridge at the back and has the 'tour' grooves on the face. Have just been to the range and hit it and i love the heavier head and solid feel off the face. However i've got a few questions as i'm unsure about the markings on the club itself. First off the toe of the club has 'titanium' inscribed as oppose to any TP logo? Is there any significance to this? A buddy of mine worked on the TM tour van last year and his 580 has the TP logo on it? I've read a few references to DF heads although i've no idea what this means, any clarification would be great. Secondly the club has a rather bizarre serial number - PACKMAN. I've obviously read the posts saying that tour serial numbers start with TXXXX so was wondering if anyone could explain this? Thanks, Mikey
  10. Thanks BP that was exactly what i was looking for. I love the look of the 32's, but at the end of the day golf is about putting together a score, and i suspect the 23's might be better for that. I'll sacrifice the slightly higher flight for a touch more forgiveness. Thanks, Mike
  11. After some futher searching found out about the custom mizunos - very nice indeed although not sure can justify expenditure. Still looking for thoughts on ball flight/forgiveness comparisons though. Thanks, Mike
  12. Am thinking about switching my irons but am after a bit of guidance. At the moment I’ve got some Mizuno T-Zoid pros which I’ve had for about 10 years. Am wanting to switch from to some slightly stiffer (S300) shafts so am thinking about just going for a wholesale change. I’m a big Mizuno fan so am keen to stick with their clubs. Currently playing off index of 5 and have been working hard in flattening out my ball flight. Seem to change my mind on a daily basis as to what clubs I want. Was thinking about some mp33’s, until I hit a set yesterday – found they hit the ball much higher than my Zoids. So have turned to the mp32’s or alternatively am thinking about the mx23’s for that extra forgiveness as I’m not yet at the stage where I can middle everything. Another possibility is a custom set - saw some pics of a set of satin finish 27’s and they looked sweet. If anybody has any hit both the 23’s / 32’s and can compare that would be great. Also as I’m new to this site if somebody could explain how you go about getting your hands on a ‘custom finished’ set that would be cool. I’m assuming they cost a small fortune?! Thanks, Mike
