tour issue mp 60
I have seen them both ways actually. I found the same to be true with Nike split backs. Some of them do and some don't. It probably depends on when they were released. Most likely the first sets that came out on tour did not have the serial numbers, but they added them as more sets were put into circulation. I hope this helps.

Mistubishi Bassara Shafts?
These shafts will release in February or March here in the US. I don't recall much of the details, but it will be a player friendly series and is going to be similar in price and as the Fuji Tour Platform (possibly playability as well). I will post details when I know more about them.

INFO on the OZIK??
I can talk about this shaft until I am blue in the face, but all you have to do is look at what it has done for KJ and Jose Maria. I believe JM gained some 18 yards with it?! KJ gained 12. But the most impressive thing was fairway percentages, up 20%+. Anyway, I have one of the boron Ozik shaft in a mid/high bend, S3, 72 grams. I don't even know the best way to describe the feel in words. All I can say is that when you swing it, it doesn't feel like it is there, until you hit the ball. When the ball comes off the face, it feels like you are hitting an illegal driver. Funny thing is that it goes straight. I rarely fade or draw the ball with it. Just straight bombs. I would say I have gained 10 to 15 yards with the shaft in the first week I have used it. The weather has been much cooler lately, so that actually may be a little more when it warms up again.

Any advice on curing putting yips?
Mike, I am sure there are alot of great tips out there, but for me it always came down to spending more time on the practice green. The yips came about from a lack of confidence in my short putts. Nothing is better for my confidence than making a bunch of 3 and 4 footers before I tee it up. Funny thing is that it doesn't require that much time to get the confidence back. Usually, it would only take me 1 or 2 practice sessions to cure the yips. Well, there is one more thing... You could take a tip from some of the pro's and start drinking. J/K Hope this helps. Paul

WTT Bridgestone J33B's for TM TP '05
Yes, we are safe up here in the northwest corner of the state. We did not see a drop of rain from Katrina and we are very fortunate for that. Our city, along with many others have been taking in literally thousands of refugees from the storm. Growing up here and spending a good bit of time in NO makes this hard to comprehend for me. It almost seems surreal. Anyone looking to donate, please do so. You don't have to send money either. These people need clothing and baby supplies. We have sent boxes of clothes, diapers and bottles with formula to help out. Money is good, but supplies help immediately.

Master Clubmaker Katsuhiro Miura "The Iron Chef"
Yes, you can get custom grinds from Miura. It will cost a pretty penny though. However, the wait is not too bad and definitely worth it.

MP 27/MP 60 combo available
The new MX-900 will be a nice match for those wanting help in the long irons to mix with the 60's. It has a hollow head with a forged face and neck. Probably Mizzy's most advaced iron. It also has a great shape to it as well. They even recommend using hybrids as you suggest. Great idea and wonderful that Mizuno offers the option.

WTB Zodia 48* wedge
And how would the US ones not be real? It is a fact that Chiba-san hand grinds the US specs in very limited quantities (to US weights and grinds), while many of the KM Tour or Premiums are done by apprentices. BTW The US specs only come in 52, 56 and 59. I am looking for a 48* for a friend of mine who loves his US spec's.

Nippon Shafts 1150 Vs 1050
HitEm, I have freq'd out my set of standard stiff 1150 shafts at standard length and they are hitting numbers similar to DG S-300, which is about 6.2 or 6.3 (using a Digi Flex). These shafts are listed as mid bend, but their tip is much stiffer than the 1050. If you are trying to achieve something similar to the 5.5's, then you should hard step the 1050. The 1150 is a different animal altogether. It produces more of a boring trajectory, with a nice feel, however not near as soft as the 1050. The 1150 is a great shaft for those wanting something with a great feel and slightly ligher weight, but will produce results similar to DG.

One plane or two? Which one are you?
Let me pose a couple of questions here. Suppose someone swings on plane with the shaft, back and through, but it does not match their shoulder plane as in the one plane swing. Does this make them a two plane swinger? Why can't someone have a shaft plane swing? Why do we have to catagorize golfers now into either one or two plane swingers? What does Tiger do? I am not a believer in method teaching. The fact is that the two swings that Hardy is teaching are on the extremes of the swing spectrum. The reality is that most people fall somewhere in between. For anyone to say that you cannot mix the two is rediculous. The truth is that there are many tour players who do just that, along with many other great players in the past. So, all of a sudden everyone needs to move to one side or the other? I have been teaching for over 10 years now and I have studied all the top teacher's methods. My experience is that they all have something good to bring ot the table. However, teaching swings is like fitting golf clubs. You cannot fit golfers into a mold and everyone cannot use standard off the rack clubs with the same flex. As the same with clothing, shoes etc,. As a teacher, you must always analyze ability, age, strength and amount of time to practice, along with size and shape. Now throw in the mix preferences of trajectory and shot shape (i.e. fade or draw). In the end, people need as good a teacher as they do a club fitter/builder for their equipment. Paul

Face-balanced putters
I believe it really depends on the type of stroke. Face balanced putters work well for guys who like to stroke the putter on a straight line back and through, mostly left hand low, (like Pelz teaches or prefers). People who stroke more naturally, going slightly to the inside back and through as the stroke gets longer tend to like putters with toe hang. Some of this can be preference as well. Remeber that I am speaking in generalities here. Paul

J33R and J33P
Keep in mind that the R has a higher cg than the P. It is really strange, but the P (375cc) is actually easier to hit than the R (420cc). Although, I play the R in 10.5 and find it to be a fantastic driver. So far, I plan on keeping it in the bag for a while, which is saying alot for me. It is a good combination with the Diamana shaft.
