  1. I will post pictures of how the shiny black finish wears soon...(right after I get a few more rounds in...)
  2. Thanks Chris! You know I wouldn't have a bag like this without you, TSG, and all the information I learn here. And thanks to all the members of TSG for your nice comments, kind words, and funny jokes... :smile2: (Hmmm...this sounded suspiciously like an acceptance speech...)
  3. The Akira driver is definately the longest conforming club I've ever hit and it works really well with the AXIV shaft...This combo is definately a "players" club, which is simultaneously its strong suit and weak suit for me. I really enjoy the distance when I hit it well and I like the ease of fading and drawing the ball (not that I can do it when it matters, but I digress...). However, I wouldn't mind having more forgiveness. I don't think that I'm quite consistent enough to take full advantage of the club, but at least it's good for the concentration. I won't be using the irons until after I take the California Bar Exam next week. I'll let you know how they are sometime after that... Let me know if you have any other questions. BTW, the size of the clubhead is 380cc.
  4. I have 850 Nippon Shafts in the irons. (S flex)
  5. Thanks to everyone for the kind words... I will post some more pictures in a few weeks after I get some rounds of golf in...No golf for me right now until after I take the California Bar... Wish me luck...!
  6. I was lead to believe that the concave soles help the club not dig into the ground/sand, but I'm not really sure about that. Does anyone else happen to know exactly what the concave soles do? Personally, they just seem to work well for me. The first time I ever used a concave sole (the XXIO), I hit the ball to within 1 foot from behind a tree and in the rough from about 75 yards. As for the XXIO specifically, I do like the club, but the headweight is too light for my taste. The heaviest swing weight I've been able to get out of it is D0. BTW, as requested, here's another pic. :rough:
  7. I had blackoxideservice.com refinish the vokey (same as the fourteen). Nice work, but really NOT cheap...
  8. I'll just let the pics do most of the talking... For more pics, please go see "What's In My Bag" for Aproposfornothing
  9. Hey TSGers! I've been a great big fan of this fantastic site for a while now and I want to introduce myself and my bag. I used to think that I was happy with my set, but then I began reading the posts here at TSG and realized how inadequate I was and how much more money needed to spend in order to be cool  . I started off with a custom grind Mizuno set with the black finish(thanks to Chris and TSG), and then I got carried away... :fever: Thanks to everyone who makes TSG one of the best sites EVER! I refinished the Fourteen and the Vokey at Black Oxide Service to match the Mizzys...Yup, totally crazy... :bomb1: :mizuno: :fourteen: :fuji: :gauge: :paradiso: :bomb1:
  10. When I got my putter from TSG, it came with a headcover...
  11. I've never seen a balde up close, but I think they're the same (or at least similar) based on the pictures...
  12. IMO, it feels crisp. It doesn't feel like an insert to me at all... As for the weight, it doesn't feel particularly heavy, just a nice balance overall. I believe the headweight is actually 345 g. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) BTW, I should let you know that I cut this putter down to 32 1/2 in., so my thoughts about the weight might be off... However, I do remember that it didn't feel too light before I cut it, and it doesn't feel too light now. I hope this helps...
  13. Personally, I really like this putter. I got it here a few weeks ago... It has an "anser" look with the balance of a mallet. The ball seems to start rolling right away, with little to no skidding. I would describe the feel as firm (not too hard and not too soft) and solid. IMHO, this is a great putter for those who perfer the look of an "anser" style putter, but enjoy the balance and MOI of a mallet/neo-mallet. I Do have two questions: 1. Is the face of this putter an insert? 2. Where did Gauge Design Japan get the name "Eldik"? A friend of mine joked that the name "Eldik" was in response to the "2-ball"...(Groan...) But now I'm curious. BTW, a big "THANK YOU" to Chris for supplying the best golf stuff ever! :smile1: :gauge: :gauge: :gauge:
  14. This set has been sold. Thanks for looking!
  15. Wedges have been sold. Irons are still available for $350 :surprize:  :mizuno:
  16. Sorry, I just noticed that I put the wrong name for my ebay account (in case you wanted to check my feedback). It's not "aproposfornothing," it's actually "groovynn". Sorry for the confusion :fever:
  17. Okay, how about: $350 for the irons $30 for each wedge $400 for the whole set! :smile2:
  18. PW-8: MP33 7: MP30 6-3: MX20 Irons shafted with Rifle Flighted 5.5 Wedges: MP series, 56* w/ 11 bounce and 60* w/ 9 bounce Wedges shafted with Rifle Spinner S I ordered this combo set directly from Mizuno. All of the irons and wedges have the same serial number (205502) and swingweight (D2-2.5). Little to no bag marks (I always use headcovers). Just ususal wear on the face and soles (with the exception of a tiny chip on the heel of the 7 iron) I would rate the set 8-9 on a scale of 1-10. $375 for the irons (shipped) $35 each for the wedges (shipped) OR $425 for the whole set (shipped) NOTE: shipping out of the lower US will be more. I know this is my first sale here, but please check my feedback at ebay under "aproposfornothing" If you have any questions, please email me at uclagene@yahoo.com Thanks for looking and helping a golf ho in training!
  19. After all, this is a golf related forum... :bomb1: :bomb1: :bomb1:
  20. I didn't know that... Thanks for the info, Chris...as always, the man who knows everything... :smile1:
  21. Wow, looks like Maru-chan is using a V-Steel and wearing a Bridgestone (not the usual Paradiso) Visor at the Wachovia. I guess Bridgestone is finally having him indorse the US Domestic product...What about the V-Steel? Any thoughts? ????
  22. That is, without a doubt, the best looking SC putter I have ever seen... :surprize: Wow... :surprize: Have I mentioned, "wow?" :surprize:
  23. I wonder why some people can see the pics and others can't...here's another...
