Hi Chris, thanks for the reply.

Hmmm, is this similar to the 2004 CB? Also, do you know where this one will be made (if it makes it into production, which I hope it will;-)? Cheers
  3. Chris, your photos look much better than the one's on the PRGR site, and yes, that is a fantastic looking iron. Earlier in the year you mentioned that you would try these, the new X-Blade CB, and the new NC-1's. Could you shed some light on the differences? Either way, they look great.
  4. Toshman, agreed on all accounts, its pretty late here in Australia. Chris, can you comment on the effect of the minimal offset... I've never been fussed about it one way or the other (I used to be able to work the ball with or without it) , but I remember you and Ari talking about potential benefits of this type of set-up in wedges, and wanted to know if you thought the minimal offset contributed to the added versatility of this new version of the NC-1. Also, does it have a slightly bevelled/rolled leading edge? Either way, thanks for the pics!
  5. Hi Chris, They all look great, although I must say the face takes a little getting used to (but it looks pretty slick nonetheless). I did have one quick question on the offset, and wanted to know if you could compare it to any of the previous Gauge models like the One. Cheers, Kyle
  6. Hi Chris, I saw that putter in your new signature and was going to ask about it, you read my mind!

There was a thread discussing this sometime last year (Chris might remember it...) and the feeling was that alot of the new irons blur the lines between player and game improvement. For example, some of the 'player' type Gauge irons are supposed to be much easier to hit than say a Taylormade TP Cavity, Titleist 690 CB, etc. Some irons definitely strike me as being much more 'game improvment' oriented, such as XXIO's or some of the PRGR 925. Maybe a question about an iron with certain characteristics would get a few more responses... hopefully some other people can chime in with their thoughts.
  8. Hey Chris, Thanks for the reply. To follow that up, could you (or Joe if he's lurking around:-) fill us in on why the sharper leading edge works better from the nice plush lies over in Japan? I can understand not needing the bounce, but I'm curious about what the sharper leading edge would do. I was really curious when I had my Yonex Tours (wonderful LTB 600 shafts and wickedly sharp leading edge).
  9. Both the blades and the CB's look very nice. Has anyone here ever played these, or any other Gold's irons? I notice the factory site only lists wedges and putters now, so are they out of the iron business?
  10. With some of the Bridgestone irons, I think that the sole grind (leading edge and bounce) are a little different that similar Tourstage models. All very nice stuff.
  11. As stated above, I don't know how they would be in the sun, but they look fantastic.
  12. Agree with the above, those are very, very nice.
  13. Hi Chris, Are the pics in the first and third shot of the same head, or do they have a different finish? Also, what shafts were the prototypes set up with? Man, I wish you were in Hawaii this week instead of Italy:-)
  14. Chris, Those look even better than I expected! Thanks for the pics. Edit!!! Its late and I'm packing to head to Hawaii, so I didn't pay attention to the pic from address... what are the specs on the offset, or lack thereof? Reminds me of my old Kenneth Smith irons... I like!
  15. Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks to Chris and all of the different sponsors, both for the contest, and for all of the other contributions to the board throughout the year. Cheers.
  16. Hi Chris, That looks pretty nice from the back (I still like the original MB's better:-) and while it definitely looks forgiving, the topline and offset look alright as well, nice job. Cheers, Kyle
  17. If you are going to keep them as a collector's item I guess I'd get them redone in chrome as well. BTW,
  18. I have to agree with the guys above, whats up with the new US iron  ?
  19. Great pics, and man, does the 505 ever look like the X-Blade CB  But I like it :money: Just a quick question, you mentioned the offset, but on the site, the face progression numbers look similar to those listed for the I-404... I took a look at the overhead pics, but can't really tell much from those, as they are a little small. Either way, they look very solid. Thanks again for the pics.
  20. Those are some amazing looking irons, congratulations  Any info on the finish, as well as some pics showing how they wear after a few rounds would be great.
  21. Hi RSU, Thank you for the quick reply. Cheers.
  22. Hey guys, One of my friends in Japan is going to pick me up the Master's Issue of golf classic, and she wasn't sure whether I wanted July or August... Cheers, Kyle

Hi Chris, I saw the Axiv iron shafts mentioned in another thread, and wanted to ask if you had tried them out yet. Are they supposed to provide a little extra 'kick' like the driver shafts, and if so, how do you think this would work on 3/4 shots, knockdowns, etc? Oh, and they look nice  Kyle
  24. Hi, Thanks for the reply... I had heard that the NV's would be closer to the GAT's in price. Now I'm going to kick myself for not saving a set of Loomis Tour shafts  Oh wait, I would have gotten then in X-stiff, and there's no way I could hit those now.
  25. Hey guys, I just wanted to see if anyone playing heavier graphite in their irons could give me some reviews. I am looking at getting some Gauge irons  and while I'd love to try some NS pros, my initial impression of them in some Tourstage irons was that they didn't absorb as much shock as graphite. But they do feel fantastic. I've thought about some MCC 115's, but if anyone here has tried GAT 105's or 115's, or if the new Aldila NV (will it ever be released?), I'd be interested in hearing about those as well. Also, if anyone has a price range on the GAT's, that would be great. Thanks for the time and reviews. Kyle
