  1. I have a few questions about this model; what is the actual head volume? What was the stock face angle? How does it perform?
  2. I have a set of custom MP-37's and they are great. If you order a set take advantage of the "open canvas" and order a personalized set with custom stampings, paintfill etc. This is what they are truly all about. I ordered my set in the brushed satin finish with my initials and the solid tour M stamp with burgandy paint fill. Unique to me; perfect. As for feel; most Missy irons feel extremely solid; personally they feel a bit softer but overall but close to stock. It's all about the custom experience so take advantage of it. A few years back I played in the Nationwide Tour ProAm locally and while I was on the range (worked my way inside the ropes to hit balls!) a ton of Mizzy staffers walked up to me and asked where I got them. I could see the wheels turning in their heads and I bet the tour rep was busy in the days to follow! That's what you are paying for...
  3. Also good to know; it appears that the 430P would be my best bet if I choose Tourstage but I'm still considering the MP Craft and the Epon custom order...decisions!!! What is the face angle of the MP Craft? I think someone mentioned custom orders with this model as well. Has anyone actually looked down at this head? Is it traditional in shape? Are the grooves real or just blasted for looks and what is the turnaround time for lets say 1* open...thanks. I'm fine tuning my decision; it's coming soon...
  4. Very good to know; does the stock 460 have a square face? Is it a hook machine for the better player with 110mph smooth swing? I kinda fight the left side so I'm worried about the standard model but it would be nice to grab one because the cost is more reasonable. I will need to reshaft; I have three nice driver shafts sitting in my office waiting for a home!
  5. Too many options in my opinion; I like the X-Drive 430P (I realize it's not available), the Epon (custom ordered 1* open, sweet) and the Mizuno MP Craft 425 (the sleeper of the group). All three of these drivers have made me say; GOTTA HAVE ONE! at one point or another. End result; no driver ordered yet...sucks!
  6. I disagree Chris; the MR-23 US Specs are as sweet as any iron I've personally have ever hit. I place them second on the list to Miura CB-201's then my custom Mizuno MP-37's cross the line at number three. Both the 23's and 201's are solid as a rock in the players CB segment. I do agree with your opinions regarding setup; upright vs flat (ie. Titleist vs Mizuno) can be totally misleading. I like to spec out any set of irons I purchase (new or used) then work off a base set of figures my club builder and I have come up with that seem to fit me as a stock baseline. Then we tweak each iron to reflect sutle differences in the playing characterisitics (loft gaps) of that particular model (offset; weighting, grinds, etc). Once we have done this I play them for a while to determine if "my" custom setup is spot or needs modification (this includes swingweights; I will pull them apart in a heartbeat). My actual setup takes a mimimum of two weeks of actually playing golf before I will consider them dialed in. This is why I offer actual numbers (lies/lofts,swingweights,lengths) to a buyer if I choose to sell my irons because if I say "1* flat/D3" that's incorrect and very misleading. My 6 iron might turn out 2.5* flat and 1.5* strong vs stock before it's dialed in for my game...
  7. I don't think that anyone has stated that the Roddio is as good or better than the Axiv models. I'm not sure anyone has spent enough time (if any at all) with the Roddio to make this determination yet. I'm just a club junkie and curious as are the others but for now everyone knows for sure that the Axiv's are a great highend shaft option so I wouldn't be unhappy at all about your new Epon/Axiv combo. Be happy and make birdies is what I say!!
  8. I understand everyone's points here. I appreciate Chris defending proper fitting and taking personal accountability regarding quality and outcomes (good business) as it relates to high dollar club investments however I'm a feel player as well and I will choose the 9.5*/X-flex .5/1' open for sure. Since I never ever make my final driver decisions based on launch monitor numbers alone (on course is much more important to me, that's just me) and I don't have the abilitity to demo my optimal setup (never do anyway) I'm simply fellin this and I'm sure it's pretty close as well. That always seems to be the the nature of feel golfers and most people can't understand that which is fine. I asked for feedback and that's what you gave me so I say thanks brother. And Chris; you got my back and that's good for business! All good and no worries at all. Oh yeah; if "I" get it wrong and it doesn't fit I can always purchase a second driver and offer my mistake as a cherry for another lucky and loyal TSGer. That's part of the fun (my wife might differ!).
  9. I'm eager to learn more; early signs indicate that this shaft line is a winner!
  10. How do you feel about the Roddio as a viable shaft option. We should talk...
  11. Thanks for the imput; looking forward to this decision making process...
  12. What is your loft? I too would like to answer this question. Thinking about this combo (Epon/Roddio) what do think? My current gamers are 9.5* Titty tour issue 905R and TM R7 425TP tour issue 10.5*. Perfect example here; I actually hit the Titty/Axis X combo higher than the 425/Rombax. So which one 9.5/10 would you go with if you are me in this combo? Thanks
  13. I'm interest in any feedback regarding these shafts and combos. How do they stack up to the other super highends and what shafts would compare to them closely. I have my eye on the 6WA (abreviated) I believe but any comments are appreciated. Thanks
  14. I agree with you Chris; it is a very gentle balance between the two. To exploite spin to much will end as my tour issue 425TP (10* actual)/Romax combo did with way to low spin. I recently shafted this head with a Fuji 660tr which is lively and tends to launch much higher and presto, it's works again. Just as the square drivers are straight as a board but at the expense of distance loss...
  15. I'm 5'8" and play my drivers between 44.5-44.75 depending on how they feel and swingweight. The lost length thing can be argued if you factor hit fairways. I personally do not notice much distance loss compared to 45' but that's just me. At a shorter height it makes very good sense because most club manufacturers are not adjusting driver lies to accomidate for our height and hand positions like they will irons, why I do not know??
  16. Hey guys, could somebody please post a few nice pics of the stock shaft and the Quattro Tech. I'm interested in color schemes and overall looks. I still haven't see to many posts on how these are working out for people. I've wanted an X-Drive forever and if I pull the trigger I want to make sure I'm well informed. Thanks
  17. Old or new who cares because they are still the same thing!
  18. Do the grooves on the face of the standard model create spin? I'm worried about this; it's basically the only reason I've not called Chris to order. How's the GD Quattro Tech? Doe's the 460 play to true to loft like previous models or did they increase initial launch?
  19. Thinking about pulling the trigger on a Tourstage; does anyone have critical feedback yet on this GD? I have a smooth temp @ 108mph and typically play X-flex tipped 1/2'. If the new X-Drives follow the norm (true to loft) I would be looking into a 10.5 degree with a shaft weight in the high 60's to mid 70's. Has anyone hit the P yet? I like a driver with a bit of fade bias in an effort to control the left side. Talk to me boys...
  20. I too am considering the X-Drive 460; my biggest concern with Tourstage drivers is the full face grooves. I play a lot of wet weather golf and I'm worried that I will produce to much spin if water collects in grooves between the face and the ball. Is this a mith or is there some truth to this effect? What exactly is the technology advantages of the new 460 model? I think all of the X-Drive models look sweet!
  21. The Endos are so sweet looking; I can understand why they haven't left the bag. I really want a set of these sticks!
  22. Sure, the Cally is a different monster. It has the love/hate driver thing going. I believe the this driver combo has lower overall spin and a very tight shot dispersion. The Cally likes to fly very straight. I think the Taylormade probably has a lower initial launch angle however it wants to move a hair right to left (1* open driver face) in the "N" weight position. I have needed to move more weight to the toe in an effort to control hooks. Actually that has worked out very well. I really love both drivers but they are totally different in my opinion. The Taylor is easy, normal titanium driver feel and pretty low launch. I think the Cally is awesome; very underrated due in part to a very week stock shaft offering and bit tricky to dial in. However; once you have it good thinks tend to happen. Having said this; if you are talking tour issue it will be important to know the source because these drivers can have very different face angles and head weights which effect all of the above. I truly like the Code 6 better than the Rombax, it has a silky feel and low spin quality that the better player desires. I hope this helps, can't go wrong either way. I reshafted the Taylormade with the Altus and haven't seen a ton of benefit except improved feel.
  23. I found this ball to have below average distance and terrible feel. It's an NXT in my opinion and should never be compared to a ProV1. Fine as a winter golf but will never make it in the higher price brackets. Hence; the winter ball bins for this below average offering.
  24. No shaft is worth 1K unless it comes with a guarantee to play scratch golf. Seriously, I believe the shaft Co.'s are really testing the waters here. It started with Fuji and the $200 something shafts and it's never stopped since. I realize that space age materials and science are being used and that's great but everthing has it's saturation point and it's up to the consumer to dictate this feedback. I want to try the Code 7 and 8 as well; I'm beginning to realize the Code series is the best in the line for my game. I have a brand new TP-7 (X) that I'm very hesitant to shaft up because of the feedback I read about distance loss. It's probably for the big bombers to help with control. Don't forget that Matrix has the Woven (Rombox equivalent) and the MFS series which I play in my fairway woods at much more reasonable prices. I really like them both a lot; the Woven is a super nice shaft that nobody knows about. It's a missle launcher and not much more that $125 or so retail (don't quote me please, talk to Chris about availability). I think they are going to re-release this model either under a new name and/or with new graphics. the old graphics is sweet; clear chocolate brown allowing you to see the weave patterns of the graphite, HOT LOOKS!
