  1. Correct, completely different monsters...BB
  2. Well the pieces of this project are starting to come together, I recieved my black chrome KBS today and the Stickys the other day. Now I can't wait for the Burners!!!! Happy Holidays guys...BB
  3. I just intalled a set of Stickys on my Titty MB's and actually needed to use two wraps plus another small quarter wrap under my right hand to get the desired thickness and feel. I normally use two wraps only with my MC's. Interesting that you indicated .58 gocchin, that should have made them larger...BB
  4. That's the objective! I've only warmed up to one set of cast irons in my life (Pings mentioned above) but I'm making an educated guess that these are indeed Taylormades "soft" castings (found on tour). Would make sense, they reserve them in the US for the grey market (ie. out the tour vans back door) in the B version. This Japanese Burner TP is identical in every single way to the RARE Burner B's which sold for big bucks as there was only 25 sets in exsistance. I'm again guessing the JPGA recieved the same ones which indeed made it to Japan's retail where as the R9 TP's made it to US retail (hate this iron, NOT soft cast!). Long story short, this is a good deal for these irons so guys snatch them up...BB
  5. I will probably pull the red MC's and use a set of multi-color Iomic stickys, I'm actually putting a set on my Titty MB's right now to see if I like them. I got a great deal on 13 grips in all the colors of the rainbow so we will see how they fair on these first. If not I will probably lean towards the Patriots or white MC's. I'm guessing the heads will be a hair light so I will be limited to these options I'm guessing. I will probably also bring the swingweight up to D3 with a tiny bit of tungsten powder down the shaft then cork them for feel. Should help fine tune the harshness of a cast iron head then off to the races! Based on PM's I'm hoping for sometime early Jan; it's getting nasty in Ohio anyway so I can be patient...BB
  6. So getting back to the Burners, I purchased a set of limited addition black chrome KBS Tour shafts for these irons and will completely rebuild them when they arrive (S200's don't cut it for me), can't wait, should be a hot looking setup...BB
  7. Funny you should say Ping, I found a BRAND NEW custom WRX set of Ping i+ Blades last season purchased as a "classic" from Ping early last season that had one fly in the ointment, 2 degrees upright. After debate with my tech I went ahead purchased them and held my breath. These babies have custom starshot finish, radius grinds, the works, incredible set. So I take them over to bend them, heat them up and they bend 4 degrees like butter, not a single pop, zero. They are one sick set of irons too, they have the proprietary Ping AWT shafts which are a dream to play, if you ever get a chance to smooth these shafts you will shocked! Anyway, it can be done........BB
  8. Me too, agree 100%, any iron has the capacity to snap in the wrong hands...BB
  9. I personally will only need to bend them 1.5* so I'm not worried but thanks for the advice, my tech has 20yrs of experience...BB
  10. I know, I'm 2 degrees flat as well and will need to bend them, if they are soft castings (I think they are the actual Burner B's myself) then it really shouldn't be a problem; I spoke with a US Representative and they can bend the retail burners (standard cast) up to 4 degrees safely. I was too a little suprised they wouldn't bend them from the factory, if one snaps I will expect them to replace it but I highly doubt it will. I was just mentioning to somebody actually this will be my very first set of Taylormades, that's suprising but I've never really had any interest until the B's started surfacing and now these, cool looking irons for sure! BB
  11. I ordered them directly from TM Japan with Nippon 1050 x-flex so we will see, might workout OK...BB
  12. So I'm taking the plunge, I will make sure to take pics and do a full review. I will be very interested to see if Taylormade Japan utilized the "soft cast" technology found in this irons brother on the PGA tour, the Burner B's. I know for curtain the US market is jealous to see these irons being released in Japan as the american option (R9 TP's) are not recieving a very warm welcome....BB Mini review... Specs: Burner TP/KBS Tour Black Chrome X-flex D2.5-D4 (perfect!) 38' 5 iron Bent 2.5 degrees flat (no damage what so ever) One range session, very very soft with super hot faces, I love them! Comparison pics are a Miura Blade PW and a 2009 Tour Authentic X-forged 6 iron (NOT to be mistaken for the origional 2007 X-forged); this Cally is a true players cavity back and the look/setup of the TM's is almost identical, nice! To answer one question, the cavity channel begins in the 7 iron. Also, the TM grip is similar to the Patriot grip as it has the new pattern and also no cord. My tech was extremely impressed with how consistant the head weights where, spot on! Nice job Taylormade, very well made iron heads. BB
  13. Those are preeeeettttttyyyy! Go with modified lofts, people we want them after the fact and screw up the intended bounce angles....BB
  14. Onoff driver sold pending payment, thanks....BB
  15. No a very highly customized set of limited addition irons that will stand completely on there own regardless of origin...BB
  16. Yes they are safe and sound in my office!
  17. Thanks very much for the pics Randy, appreciated! BB
  18. At this point the only two iron sets out there which peak my interest are these and the Yamaha Inpres Tour Forged, both appear to be SICK! Early on a set of these poped up on the bay and sold for 1K, I should have snatched them!!! I gotta see the PW first, not a fan of the profile of many JDM short irons, to chunky at the weld...BB
  19. SWEEEEEET!!!!! Can you post pics of the topline (offset) of the the PW and 5 iron maybe, that would be very cool. Also, if you hate them place me first in line to acquire them....
  20. I'm still interested in these bad boys myself, any live pics would be appreciated...BB
  21. Whats the loft of the MP Craft?
  22. That shaft is right in my wheelhouse; man doe's it look sweet!
  23. Playing devils advocate; what about Epons loyalty to THEIR customers here (outside of Chris and TSG)? People who know what Epon product fits them and have spent lots of money through appropriate channels for years now; thats a shame and very bad business; sorry....BB
