  1. This is almost the exact same procedure for repairing a scratch on a car. Great write up! I've had good success with using Meguiar's scratch X on my woods to take out minor scratches that occur from normal use. Then just add a coat of Meguiar's NXT wax and watch that club transform into something beautiful! The wax I have found also helps to reduce the likelyhood of future scratches and pop up marks.
  2. You could look into a set of vibration inserts for your irons. I have heard that they will dampen vibration better than graphite shafts would and you will save a lot of money. I'm not sure if I can post the website on here, so if I'm in violation just delete it, but www.ostrichgolf.com has a great set of inserts that you can put into your shafts that would probably help some. I would also agree with some mild pain relievers like advil or aleve before you start your round to keep the inflamation down as you play. That will help with the pain as well. Definitely take it easy if you start to hurt. I wouldn't force it if your in pain in the round. Just stop and call it a day.
  3. Am I the only one who can't see the pictures? :tsg_smiley_no:
  4. Umm....ouch :tsg_smilie_wah:
  5. I wanted to put one in my Ping Doc 17, but UST told me they didn't make one with the bend that the Doc requires. I wonder how hard it would be to either bend a shaft to work with the Doc or drill out the head to make one of the shafts work?
  6. Yeah, I'm not trying to completely silence it. I prefer a metallic sound to my drivers. I just want to deaden it slightly so that it doesn't give me ear damage when I'm out beating balls. Also it tends to draw some attention from other driving range patrons because of the extreme high pitch. I'm wondering if some cotton balls inside the head will help silence it down some. If I don't like it I could always take the cotton back out.
  7. Since they are made with carbon steel, will they rust? I prefer a rusty wedge, but I would hate for rust to take over such a beautiful clubhead!
  8. Yeah, the MAX means they have a higher COR value (around .860 I think). I will have to get up with him or maybe he'll read this thread and respond.
  9. IMHO, the Fuji vista pro 60 with the .350 tip SUCKED!!! I tried it in two different heads (a GBB II 415+ and a Taylor Made R5 Dual) and hated it. It had no decent feel what so ever and produced really awful ball flight. I picked it because their website said it was for a smoother tempo player and had a high launch angle. I really expected more from a shaft at that price. I haven't tried the .335 tip version, but I won't just based on the experience with that one.
  10. Hi all, Just wanted to run this one by everyone real quick. I have a Taylor Made R5 Dual "D" MAX driver that I have converted into a removable weight style "TP" version. The other day when I went to the range to hit it, the noise of the ball strike nearly made me deaf! It was soo loud it seriously hurt my ears as it was so high pitched. I read on other forums to put some rubber washers around the threads on the weights and that would deaden the sound some, but didn't know if anyone else had done anything to quiet the head down some. My friend has the R7 MAX also and his is also extremely high pitched like mine. Is this something that the MAX heads shared in common because the retail heads aren't this loud?
  11. Amen to that. I liked it when you could get really good shafts at a more "normal" price.
  12. OT: What is the COR rating of the "+" versions? Is that what makes them illegal for USGA play? Thanks for the pictures though!
