  1. GretE is a common name in Scandinavian countries - and I guees GretA is pretty common in Germany, Austria and Schwitzerland - so they probably have a lot of big dogs wallking around there named Greta :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: :ntsg_smilie_bulls**t: OK, I'll PM you ......later.....
  2. Thanks for your mini review :tsg_smilie_smile: Do you still play with Japanese forged irons in ireland in the winter season ? I've placed my Miura's and ;Mizuno's in the closet and now play with the excellent cast Ping S58's (I'm from Denmark - we have 50° fahrenheit right now and its going down, but still no snow.....yet) Did you really feel like the Miuras were firm ? What shaft do you have installed in your irons ? Have you ever considered Custom Mizuno irons ?
  3. Hey plus1, we need to know if you favor the Miuras, the Gauge or the Epon irons At least I NEED TO KNOW NOW :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: :tsg_smilie_wink:
  4. Form forged could be it :tsg_smiley_yes: Form forged is also the kind of cast-forging process that Cleveland does on it's 900 series wedges (no longer in production). Form forged is a combination of cast and forged. I think the original form is made by casting the metal and then at some point in the final process you forger the head into it's final shape.
  5. Thanks Chris, Would really like to know if the Beres TW901 and TW902 irons are forged or cast and whether the steel used is carbon steel or stainless steel
  6. But Chris stated that the Beres Tw901 are forged and I quote: "Beres feels like a better forged steel, It was IMO softer, vibrations more pure while running up the hands. I personally think its because Miura uses spin welded hosels and perhaps that kills some of the great feel. I will say that it is in question if Miura uses a Japanese foundry or their Taiwan location. With Beres we know for a fact its 100% made in Japan at Sakata Studios" This kind of puzzels me :tsg_smilie_confused:
  7. An owner of the Beres Tw901 in this forum claims that the Tw901 is cast and not forged - could anyone elaborate on that please :tsg_smilie_whistle:
  8. Why would you want the old VIQ when the new look so much better ? You really have to get the old at a bargain price to even consider them..... :tsg_smiley_yes:
  9. I just don't like the look of it in an irons. That's all.....I don't see it from the address position, but I don't like the look of tungsten, when the irons are in my bag.....
  10. When will you test the new 2007 VIQ iron, Chris ? I really don't need any kind of help lifting the ball up, but this iron looks nice - if the Endo forging quality is flawless I might be interested in these 2007 VIQ irons :tsg_smilie_cool: I don't like tungsten in my irons though.... :tsg_smiley_no:
  11. Hey Chris, These look a lot better than the old Tourstage ViQ. Are they forged by Endo and in case, is it the high Endo forging quality also used in the Epon irons ? When will you reivew them ? I don't like the loft of the PW - 45° :tsg_smiley_no: Do the long irons have tungsten inserts in the sole like the old ViQ had ?
  12. I'm sorry if this is OT - but I'm looking all over the web for REALLY nice looking headcovers that will fit my 460cc driver, my 3 wood and my hybrid club - but so far with no luck at all :tsg_smiley_no: The rocket tour headcovers are nice, but don't like the traditional sock headcovers, and the other ones they make are too short and wont protect the top part of the shaft. So I would like to know if anyone knows a place where I can buy some really cool looking high quality headcovers for driver 460cc, 3 wood and hybrid - preferably in vibrant or classic colors. The driver headcover HAS to have either a Zipper closure or a magnetic kind of closure (like the one the Taylor Made R7 425 Tp headcover has) The chances of my Taylor Made TP clubs will be stolen gets smaller if I protect my TM TP clubs with a no name (but still cool looking) headcover
  13. Yeahh.....but right now I'm going in the direction of a set of Mizuno custom made Mp-60 irons in satin double nickel finish with custom logo and graphics on the iron head. Don't like the shiny chrome and "Cut muscle" on my retail Mp-60 - so a custom made set would be awesome to purchase and play with :tsg_smilie_cool: though expensive :tsg_smilie_money3: Right now I have to choose between a Miura Cb-301, custom made Mizuno Mp-60 and a G-Field NC-1. Life is tough....... :tsg_smilie_wink: :tsg_smiley_laughatyou:
  14. Still awaiting the test results :tsg_smilie_cool: Att: Chris, could you PM me a price on a set of G-Field NC-1 4-PW irons ?
  15. How would you rate the Mp-60, Cb-301 and the NC-1 upagainst each other (Don't know if had hit the Mp-60's though): Look-wise ? Forgiveness-wise ? Durability-wise ? Sorry I keep asking these questions - but I'm in the process of buying 2 sets of new irons - one for the sunny dry days when my swing is in ON mode and one set for the days with not so great weather and not such a great swing mode :tsg_smilie_whistle: I already own too many sets - all retail: Mizuno Mp-60, Mizuno Mp-32 & Ping I5. I want to get rid of one of my Mizuno sets, maybe both, if TourSpecGolf can sell me a Satin version set of the Mp-60 with double nickel chrom plating. I'll be keeping my Ping I5's - this is a very sturdy, durable and forgiving set of stickZ. I also play during the winter season, mostly in indoor golf simulators and practice on range mats - but also play outside when temps are down to 40° F as long as it doesn't snow. My Ping I5 will be used during this OFF season, because any kind of soft forged iron won't do well in wet rough conditions (forged irons tends to rust and get dinged more easily than a cast set of durable Ping's and forged irons on range mats are a NO NO, because soft forged irons will come out of lie and loft) So my plan is to have 3 sets of irons: One for the Off season - here I'm going to stick with my cast durable Ping I5's One for the spring and fall season - I want a forged 'pretty' forgiving cavity back set here - G-Field NC-1 and Miura Cb-301 is the two I consider getting. One for the ON season - I may plan to keep my Mizuno Mp-32 for this part of the season or get a satin double chrome plated set of Mp-60 through TourSpecGolf. PS I only buy 110% unused and brand new irons :tsg_smiley_yes:
  16. Thanks for your review, gth :tsg_smilie_smile: The way I understand it, you conclude that the NC-1 is a good deal more forgiving on off center hits than the Mp-60 - correct ? How would you say the durability of the NC-1 compares to the Mp-60. Does the NC-1 seem more solid and durable than the Mp-60 ? Does it scratch easily, are marks and dings visible on the forged metal on the Nc-1 iron head ?
  17. Hey, I see you have the Studio design 1.5 - have you considered getting the new Circa '62 putter ? I also have the Studio design 1.5 - great putter but the rainbow finish shines a bit too much in sunny conditions. The finish on the Studio design 1.5 is called black pearl and is more sturdy than the finish on the Circa'62, which is called Gun Blue. I'm afraid the finish on the circa'62 will rust too easy (Titleist claims the circa '62 will need a bit of maintenance to avoid rusting trouble) , and therefore I havent' bought it yet - still like my Studio design 1.5.
  18. When will the G-field brand emerge in the US ?
  19. Looking forward to hearing test results from the Mizuno Mp-60 cut muscle and the G-Field NC-1 irons - they are both my favorites, when it comes to looks - although I don't like the sharp toe of the NC-1 iron. Has anybody played with the G-field NC-1 and the Mizuno Mp-60 and will rate them up against each other :tsg_smilie_confused: :tsg_smilie_rolleyes: Overall I like the aapearance of the satinised Mizuno Mp-60 iron - but I already own the "retail" Mp-60 in chrome, so what I consider most is the NC-1 iron - love the overall design except the toe :tsg_smilie_sad: When will the NC-1 be up for testing - scheduled 24. of march, today we have the march 29 :tsg_smilie_rolleyes:
  20. HOLY CRAP - these irons look freakin' fabulous :tsg_smilie_cool: :tsg_smiley_yes: How much are these :tsg_smilie_whistle: I can't afford to pay more than MAX $1.400....sorry :tsg_smilie_wah:
