  1. C´MON GUYS! NO FEEDBACK? :tsg_smilie_confused: :tsg_smilie_wah:
  2. Merry Christmas to everyone! I am thinking about buying a new set of japanese irons for the next year and have been testing the new Beres MG801, an older model (2004/2005) from Honma (504 or 503, do not know for sure right now) and Ping I5 (just to compare with a domestic set). All with graphite shafts in regular flex. My current irons are Callaway X-tour with nippon 750gr steel shafts in regular flex. My ss with the driver is in the 100-105 mph range. Never really thought about the 901 as they are supposed to be for the pro or low hcp player but, this morning, I have had the chance to hit a demo 7 iron with a graphite shaft in reg flex. Beautiful set up and design. The head suits my eyes perfectly. Not too big not too small. Weight felt perfect also. The results, I hit around 200 balls with all the clubs and the 901 worked the best. I will not say that there were no bad shots for they were. Every club delivered a bad shot once in a while but I feel that the 901 just delivered fewer... The feel was great with all Beres and Honma being the 801 a little more "metallic" or clickier at impact. The 901 is very soft. I score 85-90 depending mostly on my short game (chip and putt) I hit the center of the club face more often than not. Are the TW 901 for me? All 901 owners´ or testers´ feedback appreciated

I am waiting for my Epon 460 with a Drev shaft. I will give you my impressions (if you like me to ) about this combo when it arrives so you can decide if the Axiv V is responsible for all that fairways or maybe not...
  4. I have always heard that is crazy buying any golf club without testing it, so i figure that the driver is no exception, more to the contrary, as mis**ts and failed shots are punished with this club more than with any other... Is just the excitement of having the opportunity of buying the very best... I will try to find a launch monitor around here and do some measurings to my swing but, I do not know if I am going to find any so all I can tell you about my swing right know is : aprox. speed (92 mph) with fast tempo (or so my teacher says) My misses are straight right or a hook, although I hit the center of the club face 8 out of 10 times... I hit the ball pretty high with all my clubs so I guess I need a mid launch shaft and also that I need to reduce spin cause the ball falls very quick. I do not think I lack distance though it is just all carry. My attack angle is steep. I tend to hit the ball on the upper part of the driver´s face, but no skymarking. I think my swing is to wristy. I hope this information help you provide some advice. ALL feedback will be appreciated. Thank´s a million Thank´s Chris (you are Chris, right?. Excuse me but I have only been around for a while...) Do you think we could work something out with the poor information that I have about my swing? Thanks again BELA
  5. Hi there! This is Victor, from Madrid, Spain. I have been around for a while now but never had the intention of buying anything just because i did not have enough money. Of course I love japanese stuff. I have a set of callaways x-tour with nippon 750 regular shafts, a set of srixon I-506 with nippon 950 reg steel and beres fairways. Now that I have some earnings I was wondering if you fellows would buy an expensive driver (Tourstage XD, Viq, Epon...) without testing it. You can all imagine there is no way I can lay my hands on one of those beauties here to demo and it can be difficult even to find a launch monitor to measure my swing. It was around 90 mph a couple of years ago but I can tell you that I have improved a lot since then. My tempo, in my teacher´s words is "agressive" but I don´t really think I am that fast. I am hitting now a Nike Sq 10.5 with the regular stock shaft and have been hitting 260-280 yards all summer (it has been my best club), hitting sometimes 300 yards into the wind. I am 15 handicap. Would you buy? If so, how would you choose the shaft? Thanks a lot
  6. do you know the differences btw the i-505 and i-506 irons? is it just that one is for the Japanese market or is there something else? What would you choose btw a set of i-506 with Nippon Ns steel shafts or Callaway X-Tours with graphite shafts...

I am happy to see that my first post has caused some interest and controversy... I live in Madrid, Spain, and here we have no access to any Janapese stuff (now that I know TSG I do...) but Honma. Talking about drivers and fairways, I can assure you I have tried everything that has come to the market for the last couple of years, EVERYTHING: Taylor Made, Mizuno, Cleveland, Cobra, Titleist, Callaway, Nike, Wilson, PING..., you name it. Honma fairway woods were nice. I demoed the 460 and 425 models. But they did not blow me away although they had the same ARMQ Shafts as the drivers have. But men, I also demoed the mg460rf and 425rf drivers and they are IT. Nothing to do with any of the dozens of drivers that I have tested, most of wich had very good upgraded shafts. The only thing i dislike is the sound. A little too loud and tinny but who cares when I am bombig it 300 yards, (and I am a 18 hcp...)

Hi there! I just love this site. I have just registered (I have been visiting the site for some weeks though) so first let me say hello to all you members and guests. I live in Madrid, Spain and here the only Japanese brand that is available (and only in a few stores) is Honma. I have noticed that is not one of the brands that you usually talk about in your posts so Iwas wondering what was your opinion about their products and what was the reason for not mentioning Honma in the forums. Isn´t it widely available in the US or is it just that you don´t like their products? Thanks Bela
