Nippon Shafts
Go to any reputable Pro shop that has one of those Titlesit Demo carts...in there will be some 704's and 804's with True Tempers and Nippon shafts...great way to compare. I found the Nippons had awsome dispersion...matter of fact, thanks to Paul, I'm becomming a dealer myself. But knowing that many have a budget to protect, there are some other nice options out there...one of which I have to recommend would be the Mercury Savage Shafts. Can't go wrong with either one........good luck!

How do you grip your clubs?
I know...most of my friends (and wife) call me "Butthead" "Dipwipe"...etc... See, for me, it was always across the fatty of part of the palmand I NEVER had my right hand anchered over the thumub like I do now...slightly "nestled" against it? Yeah, but not like this. What ever you want...in a way, I almost feel like starting a new thread...tonight, Lisa and I went to the Pro shop to demo some clubs for her (my cost to make a new set of clubs would actrually be HIGHER than some of the sets currently on sale)...plus, I wanted to see he swing speed in case I wanted to make her a set. After seeing her swing and SS, I realised the Driver that comes with the set is too low...So, I'll probably by the set, and make a higher lofted driver... But as we were discussing her swing, SHE ASKED ME to teach her the Austin method as opposed to going to her instructor for the "traditional" method. Her reasoning was after seeing my improvement and satisfaction, she felt it was inevitable that she'd want to learn it eventually, so she felt might as well do it now and quit wasting time. So, with this being the case, I can see some conversations about that and all our experiences.

How do you grip your clubs?
Awhile back, after a lot of research, decided to go to the Austin swing which incorporates an entirely different grip. Hold club so butt is pointiong towards your appendix, grip the club so the club lays across the base of the fingers, allowing the left thumb to lay on top of the grip, then reach the right hand to the top of the grip and slide it down so the right hand "swallows up" the left thumb....and then overlap.

Best Putter refinisher?
I would suggest the Iron Factory. They do a tremendous job in refurbishing old beat up clubs and making them better than new. They also do some spectacular groove work on wedges, including many of the wedges on tour from Titleist.

Best Putter refinisher?
Ditto what he said. I have seen Kevin's work first hand and sent a couple customers to him for work....he does to Putters what Jim at CCC does to drivers...pure magic.

KZG CB-II's w/ Aldila Tour Gold Graphite Shafts!
These clubs are in awsome shape.....3 Iron thru Sand Wedge (includes A wedge not seen). They have the hard to find Aldila Tour Gold 100 graphite shafts...stiff flex....which retail for $28 bucks each! As you can tell from thepictures below, when in transit and not in use, these get the iron headcover treatment. Club length is standard and loft and lie are all at factory spec, however, I can adjust to meet the buyers taste (I'm an authorized KZG Dealer) If the above pic wasn't good enough, here's a close up of the heads.... I'm asking $300.00 delivered for all ten clubs.

New steel shafts for irons?
Paul - What does a dealer have to do to get dealer price on the NS's? I've written them on a couple occasions and either they don't understand english, or simply ignoring me. It's disconcerting that my customers can demo irons (like on the Titleist cart) and fall in love with the shafts...but I can't deliver them on assembled clubs at less than Donald Trump cost.

Nakashima NP-R utility club
I bought my 22° Nakashima this past week and already have it for sale (see our Buy/Sell/Trade section). I LOVE the way the club sets up, looks and plays off the tee box, fairways and any shortgrass lie. My problem with it was the trajectory was not the same lazy, higher flight I got from my 23° Jackaroo...which also was much better extracating the ball out of tall rough that the Nak couldn't do. The Jack has a lower Center of Gravity which is more comfortable for me than the lower aggressive flight the Nak, or at least THIS Nak offers. Bottom line? I think the Nak is about the best utility club out there...but it is NOT, nor ever should be miscontrued as a Rescue club.

shaft needed to keep ball lower
Wow... You make it hard to offer an opinion when you say: That's like saying sometimes I walk and sometimes I sprint....15 mph variance can mean as much as two flex points. Plus you didn't metion what type of swing you have...smooth?...aggressive? upright? flatter? need more info!

Aldila NVS
This is true...$109.00 each. I've bought three of them.....love em!

headcovers
Personally, I don't get it. They look tacky and cheap to me and have absolutely no class at all. :? I agree with you...However, these arethe most popular non OEM headcover on tour for something like the lst 30 years...And at almost 100 bucks for a set of three is insane.

Srixon UR-X Ball
I've been a big fan of the Srixon line since they hit the shores a few years back. In particular, the Hi-Brid Tours...my only complaint about them was the shredding of the skin...much like the ProV-x. The URX's came out right near the end of our season and I only had a chance to hit them a few times before hibernating them with cold weather balls. What i found was very much like what Buddy found. A great all around ball...but the added distance with the irons, in particular, the wedges caused me a bit of grief. I had all my distances set....and all of a sudden, with these balls I found myself hitting wedges over greens instead of on them...well, that was disconcerting. But I will be taking them out again and getting them dialed in. They're THAT GOOD of a ball worth making accomodations for.

Hitting off of Mats
Worst part about mats (in my opinion) is they can hide swing flaws. You may have an out-to-in swing or other flaws where impact is not made properly and an unforgiving natural turf will allow the natural progression of the club and result in the result of a poor swing. however, a mat, with cement base, will correct the club angle and deceive the golfer into thinking that swing was correct. Once that happens, it's possible the player imbeds that bad swing over the winter, then when springtime hits and he goes out in the real world.... He's screwed.
