  1. As a general rule do not sand graphite however maybe the MCI shafts are different.
  2. I have been playing a lot of golf lately and feel I finally dialed in the XV. I feel very confident with it and have hit some really killer drives. As said before, it is very versatile and can be hit low and high with a draw or fade. My playing partner yesterday commented yesterday that I was really getting a lot of the face on the ball meaning I was really connecting well with the ball. It is every bit as good as the T388 but is easier to hit and feels crunchier on impact.
  3. The XV is deceivingly long. I don't think it flys too high. It is versatile as you can vary the height without getting uber spin.
  4. Today I played these irons after buying them through TSGs recent sale. I shafted them with NSPRO950s I had laying around. Wow I am so surprised or maybe not. Excellent shape. Smallish head, nice reasonable top line. Simple design almost similar to the AF302. Feel is perfect. Forgiveness is wonderful. Ball just shoots off the face. Dare I say better than the OnOff Forged. Similar in softness, but a better more positive feel. I think not quite as long from heel to toe. Less offset. In fact almost none. Best iron buy that I can recall. Stellar. I am happy.
  5. Still available.
  6. Final price drop to $399 in con USA.
  7. I can't believe these have not sold yet. Offers?
  8. Sorry wrong forum. Will move later when I get to a computer.
  9. Sold. I have two of these and am selling one. You have read all of my reviews. Excellent condition. Head cover has a scrape on it but I will include a Tattoo Golf head cover in addition to the original one. 45.25", d2 sw. $650 net to me. No trades. Will also include Fullmiere swing trainer for an additional $150. This is a great deal.
  10. Same flex hard stepped once, tipped 1/4"
  11. Yes. I have another flex in them now but also Recoil.
  12. Selling my second set of Recoil Prototype shafts. Perfect condition. Were installed at a 5 Iron playing length of 38". Have new Tour Velvet ribbed grips. Model 970T-R, F3. Great chance to try these awesome shafts. Raw length of 5 Iron shaft is 36-7/8" from top to grip end. .355 taper tip. $399 shipped in conusa. First to pay get them. No trades. Quote international.
  13. Lower the tee height so 80% of the ball is below the top line of face.
  14. Yes tee it low. Maybe 80% below the crown. Sounds crazy but really try it. The XV is a different monster. Tee it up and swing away!
  15. I think where people struggle with this driver is impact position. Hit it like a 3 wood. Hit level and not upwards. The players that I have seen hit it best have proper position of the hands at impact. The ones that flip their hands and rely on timing have struggled. Contrary, deeper face drivers can be hit up on and have a different margin of error. IMO that is why many complain drivers and shafts hit to high. Most of us tend to add loft because of erratic release techniques. Not a dig on anyone. Comes down to technique. Must of us are not making any money playing golf so we need improvement.
  16. Crazy RD Magnarun with Syard XV could be a nice combo.
  17. Tell me more about the Platinum shaft.
  18. It wasn't long ago that the forums were full of discussions of new shafts. There hasn't been anything talked about lately despite the new line of Crazy, Graphite Design, etc. Does this mean there is nothing worthy on the market or we are just tired? What is everyone playing, etc.?
  19. I spent more time today at a range with the T388 and XV. However it is a range that has pretty nice balls, is easy to measure distances and I have hit a majority of the drivers I have owned at it. I was swinging pretty well and think I couldn't do much better mashing balls with each. Most time was spent with the XV. Forgiveness - I purposely hit balls towards the toe and heel. I could feel when I did so, but not in a harsh way. Heel hits were medium trajectory and flew really straight. The distance was pretty good but flew 15 yards short and rolled a lot. Ditto for the toe hits but they felt a little crisper. I like the forgiveness and would rate it slightly better than the T388 which is a +1 for the T388. Flight - As previously posted, the XV's traj can be varied by tee height. I don't suspect that spin changes much with this and that is a big plus for the XV. What I liked is that I could choose to hit the XV really high and it hit BOMBS! Great versatility for times when I favor carry over roll and vice versa. I can work it left right and straight with ease. Distance - The XV proved to be longer. I hate to say it, but for me it was. Sometimes by a lot. Now let me quantify this by saying I have hit drives with T388 that I have never hit so far. However I think the XV is longer and likely will be consistently longer in the end. Control - The T388 I can hit straighter. The XV I lost a few times left, but that could be the shaft flex or a swing flaw while adjusting to it. That being said, I think time will take care of that. I am happy with what each of these drivers can do. I can't wait to hit some really drives on the course.
