Somehow its my understanding that there are difference of the first ST vs the later maxima ST. Most prefer the first gen even TSGer, right? I read on this forum that the maxima ST is more difficult to control.

Mark, what distance you cover with your Ryoma F9? Perhaps you need something like a 30* ute. If so, that a look at the SYB 108EZ at 30*.

Mark is playing the personal 2 so the 5 iron would be a bit more challenging. Put it another way, what distance you want to cover with your swing speed. I have 27 syb but it does go longer than your typical 5 iron regardless the loft is higher.

Ninety five percentage of recreational golfer cannot hit driver off the deck so basically the question is whether you can hit a 2 wood at 44 to 45" length effectively off the deck. The weight of this brassy or brassie is 210g which is the normal 3 wool weight. The volume is larger probably due to material use. I could see if the player can hit his 3 wood consistently off the tee a long way would find this club helpful. However I am still struggling to see how this driver would help the average golfers off the tee since it is not that short in length but with a smaller head than a 460 driver. Would a mid capper please buy one and do a review on this?

Interesting but my trouble has always been my fairway woods (tee up or off the deck) and not so much with my driver. Need to figure this out where this club could fit in. It looks like a driver for a faster ss or stronger players.

Is this a fairway wood loft or driver loft like 10ish? Why would it be easier to hit than a regular driver? edit: Is this 13.5* loft like a spoon?

What you describe, IMO, is the Mizuno feel.

Channa, there are two school of thoughts with fitter in HK and as Ed said, I am sure they would find a solution such as a shim.

I guess different fitter/builder uses different method. Just built a set of 703 with mci 60. Builder did not want to drill or enlarge hosel instead just shave down the shaft to fit 0.355. His logic is one can replace the shaft easily if it does break but at leat the expensive Epon head is still intact. Some would say 60 g graphite is just too thin in the tip to shave but he did it and so far so good.

If you are just comparing the VG3 and Type R, I would take the VG3 having play both but own the VG3.

For shaft, it would be great to have the chance to demo or in the case of FW shaft, it is really an utility tool-point A to point B. I personally have good experience with DG SF fw so I would be ordering another 2 to go into new FW heads I am getting soon. Don't need to be fancy with FW as long as it fit your swing or the head.

Since you already have the stock shaft, try it and see whether it works. I have seen a member here played the xv 3 w with stock stiff shaft so well that I told him not to change a thing or the magic would be gone.

I personally do not like using driver shaft for FW. There are a few FW in lighter weight you can consider such as Bassara or GD. I personally been playing DG SF5 which is designed especially for fairway. Anything lighter than mid 50g would be difficult to control.

I am still playing the IFF 17* 4w. Can't seem to replace it.

Are these shafts still made by Crazy at its own workshop or are they being contracted out now? The original designer and a few skill workers moved on to become TRPX. Somehow need to relate the new flex designation to the last numeric flex designation of the old crazy.
