  1. whatever happened to Brett and what's up with the videos. Is TSG not pursuing a new server for the old videos?
  2. i got rid of most of my hybrids and went back to iron woods. i like the epon 901 and also the tourstage xblade which i haven't had a chance to use yet. idrive is correct on finding the right shaft. i found that the xcon altus hybrid shaft works best for me so i have a few in storage just in case..

nope it doesn't because people tend to swing differently when hitting into a net and on the range versus the course. however, the launch monitor is a great tool for identifying your potential and how many yards you're leaving on the table. i find people perform better when hitting into a net because there is no target and they swing as hard as they can. just my opinion. however, given the same swing...yes...i've found that they do match pretty close given nominal conditions.

i didn't know monkeys can talk ;) if I were him, I wouldn't return them, in fact I'll ask to borrow more stuff!! any comparisons to the 301's in terms of forgiveness and feel? fro your pics, the 301's actually look smaller heel to toe.
  5. i have the 101LB and it's a looker and you're right they aren't as soft as the Epon but they spin just as much and I love the milling on the face. I thought these TS wedges were cast and not forged like the Epons.
  6. how did the leaderboard help with the correct in-out path? i haven't really been using my leaderboard but when i do, it's mostly a tool for me to stretch and strengthen my core muscles.
  7. i have the 2008 XDrive 460 and I have not seen a better looking head at address. The sound is as good as anything I've heard. It's sounds more like an expensive crack and feels like "damn".
  8. hi 1) BBGM I was at my clubbuilder today to fine tube this setup and discovered that the BBGM is about 0.75 inches. Does this sound right? (The total playing length is 44.75 and the total shaft length is 44 inches.) If this is right, any shaft that is used will play a bit stiffer than normal, almost like tipping it 0.75 inches. btw..The club freq'd out at about 260cpm in a 5 inch clamp for reference and the shaft used is the Tour AD EV-6 Stiff. Can anyone confirm or deny this? The 2008 XDrive has a much longer BBGM, about 2 inches, so everything plays a little softer. 2) Swingweighting Lastly, does Tourstage or TSG sell the weights that goes in the back of the head of the 701G? Mine came out at 194g which is too light and that was because it was built to play an original length of 45.5. thanks Jack
  9. love this thread
  10. just do a search, a lot has already been said on this forum
  11. - so would you say the 701g launched higher than the 901? - how does the launch angle compare to older xdrives with the same loft? maybe that hook was because the shaft was too soft for your swingspeed. I've noticed the newer xdrives have a shorter BBGM so the shafts should technically play stiffer thought. I have an R9 on the way so I'll have to compare that to my af101 and 08 xdrive...so far it's been a tough decision, they are all so good.
  12. are these videos coming back online anytime soon?
  13. look at the offset on the PW. that's too much isn't it?
  14. is there a difference in sound between the R9 and R9 max? i wouldn't get this unless the sleeves are readily available. heard that there are no plans to sell these sleeves.
  15. how about the 2009 XDrive's? is the same worst or the same CRACK!?!
  16. hi can anyone tell me what other driver, JDM or UDM, that has the sound, feel, and look at address of the 2008 X-Drive 460? thanks Jack
  17. thanks Tim for the video. it's a little different than what the video has but what's good about this device is that you can use it to work on very specific exercises. So far I really like practicing the load. I don't wear shoes inside the house either, I don't really know anyone that does.
  18. it does sound pretty nice. that's a nice swing with a nice tempo and lower body control.
  19. I finally had 15 minutes to go smack a few today. I hit 3 balls for each driver and here are the average numbers: Club = Epon Carry = 231.0 Roll = 15.0 Total = 246.0 Offline = 8.4 BS = 134.8 LA = 17.5 Descent = -37.6 Spin = 2567 Side Spin = -225 Side Angle = 0.1 SS = 91.5 Score = 88.9 Club = XDrive Carry = 226.5 Roll = 20.1 Total = 246.5 Offline = -2.1 BS = 137.0 LA = 16.0 Descent = -30.8 Spin = 1569 Side Spin = 68 Side Angle = 0.2 SS = 91.8 Score = 87.9 It looks like the 7x07 regular is a little weak and might need some tipping. The XDrive feels better to me at impact but I do feel that the Epon is a little more forgiving. They both give me good scores. Looks like I might keep both at this rate.
  20. i picked up the leaderboard and it's a pretty nice device to help with balance and my pivot. If anything, it'll help strengthen and activate the right muscles for a better setup position.
  21. I've recently acquired two drivers for comparison: Epon AF101 10.5 w/ Rombax 7x07 Regular at 45 inches D1 2007 X-Drive 10.5 w/ Roddio WBA at 45 inches D2 There's no clear winner but based on looks at address and feel, I'm leaning more towards the X-Drive. The X-Drive has a crisp feel to it while the Epon is a little more spongy. I'm not really getting any real good ball speeds cause at the moment my swing sucks, but for comparison sake, I'm at least comparing a crappy swing with another crappy swing. I'm torn between the two and don't really want to keep both. I think i need to wait till my swing comes back and take it to the course so I can better gauge performance and forgiveness. Has anyone done any comparison between these two? Jack
  22. thanks Tim. my ss is not 135. i wouldn't want that fast of a swing speed, that would be a bad thing. my LM says 88-90mph. i've done that bridgestone ball fitting and it puts me at 100mph. i don't really believe it though. thanks for the tip, i look forward to the video. thanks Jack
  23. that's awesome. i have similar number to your before swing. i'm trying to shorten my iron distances because hitting greens with short irons is a problem for me, however i can't get my driver ball speed pass 135 which doesn't fit under the yardarge curve of my irons. can someone please post a video of Brett's Leaderboard drill again or send me a copy? I'm really tempted in trying this out. I have a problem with a slight sway and balance and losing my tush line. I'd also like to fix my head moving forward at the top of the swing. thanks Jack
  24. very nice looking wedge. if they stamp forged but are cast, isn't that misleading? i've been having lots of luck on the tourstage 101 xwedge, seems to work better than my kgx for now. keep us posted, looks like you have more than a set of V4 wedges.
  25. thanks Randy for the review. How are you liking the 901 wedges compared to the Chikara's? I have the 101LB wedge and it's pretty nice. Love the upward milling on the face. It also shreds balls like the Chikaras, not as soft though but looks better. The coolness factor is definitely there. Looking forward to your review on the wedges.
