  1. I have the new Premio grips on two sets of my irons and they are wonderful. I have a red set on my Adams MB irons and a black set on my Callaway Prototype irons. What a great feel. Oh, and they were only $5.99 a grip, not $17 or $18 like some grips
  2. Thanks for the advice, I will try to resize the pics and try uploading again.
  3. I have an almost new set of Callaway Legacy forged irons from Japan, 3 through SW. They are shafted with Project X Flighted 6.0 shafts and gripped with new Golf Pride 2G grips. They are standard loft, length, and the lies are 2* flat. They have only been hit on the matts at the range and are in excellent shape. Would like to sell for $695 and not really interested in trades but always willing to listen to offers on JDM equipment. Hooray, got loader to work-thanks for advice. Was thinking of listing on Ebay but would rather sell here so reducing price $100 down to $595. A great price of a great set of clubs! Thanks for looking, Doc
  4. And, manufacturers of high-end shafts, like Fujikura, are now spining their shafts before selling them. They issue instructions that installing shafts with labels down will result in proper spining. So, not sure if spining helps or not but manufacturers are now getting with the program. The length of my drivers are 44.5 inches and I can definitely feel the difference if I hit a 45 inch driver. Doc
  5. Hey Jacksonlui, I live in San Diego also and was on the tennis court today when it started to sway from the earthquake. The court lights were swaying back and forth and the fences were bobbing up and down-freaky. Whether you believe in spining or not, my comment to Vineman was that spining should help you hit it straighter......meaning that he should probably rule out the spining he had done on his driver as a reason for the hitting it off line 12 meters. More likely, the 45.5 inch shaft was probably the reason for his wayward drives. It amazes me that many of the manufacturers are pushing longer drivers now to the public, selling more distance as the reason for the extra length. Most golfers have enough trouble squaring the club up now with a 45 inch driver of less, imagine how much trouble they have with a longer driver. Manufacturers produce draw/closed faced drivers to reduce slicing in drives and now they are adding length-crazy if you ask me. Pretty soon we will all have 48 inch in length drivers with 4-6 degree closed faces. This game gets more interesting every year. Doc
  6. And what kind of data would you like to see? How about almost 100% of the pro players spining their shafts in order to reduce any wobble in the shafts during the swing. I believe it is now an accepted practice that if you are a decent player you get your shafts spined in order to remove any variables that might hinder the path of the clubhead during a swing. Shafts that are spined, properly fitted in length and cpm'ed to your swing speed can only improve your ball striking. Ha, you can tell that this topic of spining shafts has been discusssed a lot with the many club builders I have come in contact with over the last few years. Doc
  7. Spining the shaft should help you hit it straighter. If I had to guess, not seeing your swing, I would say the shaft is too long for you. Due to the extra length, you are not able to return the head to the square position at address. Many of the players that come to me to change out their shafts have read an article about longer shafts and more distance, so they figure it will work for them. They put in the longer shafts and all of a sudden they are fading the ball more. I recommend shortening the shaft to 44.5 inches and they hit the ball better. 45 inches or less is my theory on shaft length. You can generate tremendous club head speed with a shorter shaft. Just a thought, Doc
  8. Great information and I have hit/played three of the brands mentioned above. I have hit the Tourstage 901 driver, the Epon AF 101 driver and my new driver, the Kamui 456 driver. Ranking them, I would say........... #1 Kamui 456-low spin, great feel, excellent distance, not too metallic sounding but enough sound for good feedback. #2 Epon AF 101-a little more spin than the Kamui, great feel, excellent distance, wish there was just a little more sound-kind of dead sounding. #3 TS 901-more spin than the Kamui, same spin as the Epon, both feeling and sound are muted/dead, distance not as long as the Kamui or Epon. The Epon was firmly set in my bag until the Kamui came along, now the Epon is in my second bag. The TS 901 has been sold-just not a keeper for me. Would very much like to try the Yamaha. Doc

Now that I have gone to a Skycaddie GPS for my course measurements, I have no need for my Bushnell Yardage Pro 1000 laser rangefinder. Great deal here..paid $350 will let go for only $150 shipped to your door. This is about the best and most accurate rangefinder you can buy. Will post pics tomorrow. Doc
  10. Oops, just checked the TS 901 and it does not have an EV shaft at all. It has the Tour AD B09-01w stiff shaft. I have two of these drivers and just wrote down the shaft from my other one-a senior moment. Sorry. Doc

  13. Spring of 2010, not long to wait. These shoes are so nice looking, just hoping they soon make them for "big foot" like me. Doc
  14. The Kamui is "a hidden gem" and is longer than the Epon. Man, don't need to twist my are anymore, I am getting one. The Epon has been my all time favorite driver (and I have had a few) but am definitely willing to try one that might even feel better and be longer. Doc
  15. I play the Bridgestone Tour B330S and like it so much better than the ProV. BUT, the new Callaway i (S) is intriguing and will have to make an appearance soon in my bag. Are they in the proshop yet, or soon. Guess I had better check it out. Doc
  16. Black drivers are the way to go. I have an AF101 black and just love it. Can't wait to see the AF 151 in black. Doc
  17. Geeeeeez T, after reading your great write-up on the PRGR Egg, I feel the need to get one. I have been playing the PRGR Hit fairway 15*, but I like the idea of a 13* fairway. And I have the Geotech 15* fairway, now what am I to do. Doc

Thanks everyone for your input. Looks like I will be trying the Epon AF Tour blades. Hoping the topline looks good to me. Doc

How about the MB 5003 compared to the Epon AF Blade?

Okay, now that I have sold my Epons, I am looking to purchase a set of blades from TSG. So, I would like to find out which blades have a thin topline. I have a set of Australian Blades and the topline is razor thin and that appeals to me. I am interested in the new Zestain Fi-2 blades and the Miura MB 5003 blades, or maybe another model like Miura baby blades......................... I would appreciate any help in finding this information-thanks. Doc
  21. It would be great if Fairway Golf added Epon and Tourstage. I go to their shop at least once a week and have suggested they add some JDM products but no success yet. They said they had a agreement with OnOff but did not materialize. Oh well, one can only hope. Doc
  22. Thanks G. for such a quick explanation and sorry to hear they have adopted that internet policy. I live in San Diego and there are no Epon retail outlets anywhere near this area, so how am I going to be able to purchase new Epon products? I really do like Epon and their quality. Doc
  23. Okay, now that so many of us know that Epon is missing from the TSG proshop, what happened for them to be let go from this site? Epon has always been such a stand-out company here at TSG, has that changed? (Or should I not be asking?) Doc
  24. How do I keep them so new? Always use covers, never know when you might want to sell them. And, I use my Miuras and Epons most of the time. I also have the G-Field 17* rescue club and G-Field wedges for this set (not pictured.) Just a collectors set I guess. Maybe I will sell the whole entire set one of these days. Doc
  25. Check out the complete G-Field set. Do not use them much but they are nice looking. Doc
