  1. Jared, On the 460 it's 57.5* and on the 425 it's a very flat 56.5*.
  2. The 460 was made to be more forgiving than the 425. People loved the 425 when it came out but the knock against it was a lack of forgiveness as players besides "athlete" level wanted to use the driver... so the 460 is not quite as deep and a little more forgiving.
  3. I think it's one of the nicest looking drivers around... more classic, not big MOI style. I think AJ can give you some good feedback as he has hit it against the X-Drive and Epon and likes it.
  4. I've seen three retail samples tested, two 425's and one 460. Here are the numbers: a) 425 9.5*: actual loft 8.9*, face angle 0.5* open b) 460 9.5*: actual loft 9.3*, face angle 0.6* open c) 425 9.5*: actual loft 9.8*, face angle 0.5* open
  5. This has been around for a while but I thought I'd post it up for those who love inserts but wish they had various inserts for their one favorite putter. Sasaya-san created C.F.I.S. the Changeable Face Insert System. It includes three separate inserts, 1 SUS303 fine and tight milling marks, 1 SUS303 with wider milling marks, and 1 Soft Copper Insert. The thinking is that once you are accustomed to the feel of a certain putter in your hands, you can swap out the insert depending on the speed of the greens you are playing or the feel at impact you desire. I like the idea. Here is the system on a M402 Prototype.
  6. Definitely is R, it's 7mm shallower and quite a bit wider from heel to toe which is why I'm very excited to hit it.
  7. I'm very excited about this driver.... I cannot wait to get mine!! Looks better in these photos than it does in the epons stock photos!
  8. That's probably why it launches so high! (^_^)
  9. Yes they are made for Syb specifically by Shimada, that's what I meant. I actually saw them in my shaft guide... definitely considered high launch steel in the Syb lineup.
  10. Both wonderful FW's. The GR was made to be forgiving, but the PRGR even with it's Tour designation in the model, is super forgiving based on it's shallow face design. Both made by Endo so possess wonderful feel. As Chris said the PRGR will edge out the GR in ease of use, but in the end the performance can be affected by your shaft choice as well.
  11. Welcome to the forums, the Gold's Factory irons are indeed very nice but you should definitely explore your options as there are just so many choices out there! While many drivers have closed faces, there are in Japan what is referred to as "Athlete" models, specifically geared towards low handicapper and pro type players. Most of those models are square to open faced and feature a flatter lie. K2_2 mentioned some very good drivers above and other good choices are the PRGR 501 Tour and Yamaha 425v Tour, all considered Athlete models.
  12. Unfortunately there isn't which is too bad because a lot of Ping fans outside of Japan have shown a lot of interest in the J's.
  13. The reverse graphic option has always been an option. We've had a few pass through here reversed.
  14. As far as I know ALL major Japanese brands have made a focused effort to comply with all USGA rules over the last few years. A couple of years ago everything that came out of Japan was pretty much non conforming but now it's the opposite as almost all drivers are conforming. As for irons I don't see any difference unless the rules have been drastically changed. What is the COR limit for irons these days?
  15. Amazing driver... lost to the winner in the semis in the D-1 Shootout here: http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/index.php?showtopic=26208 Low spin and very long. It is longer than the normal X-Drive series and far easier to hit! The head is more classic shaped, not high moi style. More shallow face than the deep X-Drives. A really awesome looking and performing driver.
  16. K, they didn't actually launch it, they just announced it. It won't be available for another 3 months. Release date is scheduled for mid February next year. I'm reading the article now and will be back soon with more info. It will be available with three new shafts, the ali islei, tour ad md, and rombax Z series!
  17. All I know is that they are Shimada K-6001's with constant weight. Around 105g and mid to low kick point... so definitely a higher launching iron shaft. SYB recommends them for swing speeds of 94mph or more (driver). It's a standard shaft that Miura Giken and it's authorized builders put in the Passing Point irons.
  18. the 9003 series is made for the hard hitter with high swing speeds.... which was why it was previously tour only
  19. Yes similar to that profile except with far more technology, tighter dispersion and lower launch.
  20. Sorry it's the original Graphite Design P9003 prototype that has finally come retail. One of the most used shafts on the Japanese tour. Yeah the Roddio will give us a good idea of what you need.
  21. an X-Con 5 would probably be too soft for you and it's a high launcher. You're not going to find a 50g range shaft that kicks high and launches super low. Another option in the high end category is the Japan tour proven P9003 (I'm assuming you're X Flex) or standard 9003 which has a stiff version. Theya re mid launching shafts but famous for feel, control and stability on the Japanese tour.
  22. AJ it might be your browser (^_-)... it's perfect Japanese what he posted here (^_^). And never trust google it may give you a rough idea sometimes but it can also be way way off....
  23. "Here's an American customer's order. I did the engraving and markings similar to a previous beads boron one (the sole is a little different), and changed the combination of colors. It was hard for me to concentrate on the paintfill so a staff of mine did a fanastic job! I haven't been accepting orders with custom paintfill colors however I think with discussion I can offer more complicated colors at a charge of 1500 yen and up." Those colors look pretty custom to me! I love the two blues on black... very cool looking!
  24. If you look in the gallery you can still see all those awesome Gauge putters.... their departure left a massive hole in the JDM market for a Japan brand mainstream putter that no one has really filled yet. There are still legal proceedings happening with the Gauge fallout so unfortunately no one took over. If they did not have financial issues like the did from poor management it would have been an attractive golf company to buy with all their great G-Field and Gauge products.
