  1. That helps too Bat, but if you're really good, you can always close your eyes
  2. Josh sinced you have the Roddio give it a try, my guess it should be in the low 2000 rpm spin range... (I've even seen Roddio's do around 1800rpm on on the vector) make sure it's tipped properly to achieve your desired stiffness/cpm.
  3. Yeah that's why I recommended them... the new graphite available now has dispersion like steel but couple smooth feel and light weight... and yes distance! Let me know more once you get a chance to play them more! (^_^)
  4. Oh you got them! Don't forget to post a detailed review. I'd love to hear how they work out for you especially with the shafts. They must be very smooth!!
  5. They are forged in Japan but not sure by who.
  6. The Roddio will be pretty low spinning as will a Diamana Whiteboard and the new Rombax X series and Axiv X Series are rather low spinners. However their profiles may be slightly softer than the VTLT. What flex are you?
  7. I'm pretty sure they are one piece... but don't blame me if the neck snaps off (^_^). Actually I've bent a few up to 3* before.
  8. Two very different irons. The 701's are forged with a AsRoll face and tghe ViQ 2008 are cast and not released until next week so unfortunately nobody hast tried those yet. The 701's though are as forgiving as it gets for a forged iron and an amazing performer. The NS Pro 900WF shafts are OEM only shafts, the Epon's are custom made and come with more options actually. I am very curious to try to try the ViQ's as I've owned previous generations before and they have always been great irons too.
  9. Sasaya-san has made two Lefty putters both based on the Private Stock No.2 shape. One Fe Carbon and the other SUS303! All the usual customizations available!
  10. Well that is a good thing R, thanks for chipping in. (^_^)
  11. It says on the site, Mirror finish body, face and topline are "sandblasted"... yes that is what it says. I guess it gives it that sparkly rough look like the Sprout face above.
  12. That is what I love about GD... taper tip 0.355! (^_^) They would be comparable to the Roddio's for sure. Are you looking at getting something in the same weight range?
  13. Hi B, Okay, the Black G's were originally prototypes and then offered as Professional level shafts and are still used by Shingo Katayama in his Nike irons. Then GD released the Tour AD and created two lines of irons the Tour AD AD series of irons for regular users and a Tour AD Pro for low handicap and professional players. The AD is a constant weight shaft available in 65 75 85 and 95g models and the the Pro is an ascending weight shaft starting with the 2 iron shaft at 100g then increasing 2-3g every shaft all the way down to the shortest iron at 118g. The Tour AD AD is designed for distance performance while the Pros are very much built for aim and control as witnessed by their steel like torque numbers. The Tour AD AD was so popular though, some low handicappers complained that there were no heavier versions so GD came out recently with the Limited AD 105 and AD 115 constant weight shafts... that are customizable in color and cost a fortune, twice the amout of the Pros. Now all the Tour AD shafts above are mid kicking shafts. The Black G's which are available in 3 models are constant weight shafts with higher kick points resulting in lower trajectory than the Tour AD's. Confusing yes... good shafts... YES!!
  14. Of the heavier steel shafts I think the 1150's will give you the smoothest feel... it is the lowest ball flight of all NS Pro shafts. Another option is the Nippon Super Peening Blue... around 130g each and a high kick point for lower ball flight. If you want to go all out then get graphite like Graphite Design Tour AD 115 or Pro's... I am discovering that Graphite rocks with Epon... it's a monster combination and I have never felt anything smoother and people who demo my irons agree. With the technology these days in graphite you even see lower handicappers putting graphite in blades. Minibon (one of Japan's top golf equipment bloggers) just put Graphite Design Tour AD 105's his new Miura MV-5003 blades and said it was the best feel he had experienced in years....
  15. Hi there, would it be these ones? If so they are soft S25C forged and the same head design as the Zodia Prototype Irons. Both are the same iron as the Geotech EK Forged found here: http://www.tourspecgolf.com/proshop/p1520/...oduct_info.html
  16. I also don't mind the "thicker" topline... it is by no means chunky I think it's just thicker than expected for low and mid/low handicapper type irons. I still have my eyes on those 550's.
  17. She's sponsored by Adidas and Taylormade Japan so I don't think she'll be switching over soon. The R7 XR line for ladies is not bad at all though.
  18. She ate some rice balls yesterday then later today she went to the driving range close to where she was working... where she proclaimed to her surprise that she was hitting it well... Looks like she didn't bother changing from her work clothes! (^_^) At least she gets to play! My season is over!
  19. There are definitely some minor design changes as Miura calls it an evolution from previous MB series irons, they've played around with the thickness of the face making it thicker than previous models and shifted weight around in the design. Results apparently is more feel.
  20. Those look absolutely amazing... I wonder if they can do that with AF-701's?
  21. Sole is totally different (XXIO's sole is almost entirely one piece of 60g tungsten) as are the dimensions and materials too.
  22. Yup I've been reading lots of blogs in Japan. One of the top bloggers said he hadn't feelt soft impact like that in years... it gave him goosebumps!!
  23. Well to give you a bit more info J, the Super Peening series is available in four models: From heaviest to lightest/fastest to slowest swing speed: Blue Orange Red Brown The key feature for the the SP series is the shaft's balance point, for all models it's right at the 50% point of the shaft creating a neutral shaft that is made to go straight/ better dispersion. I've tried the Red, it was very smooth. There are different kick points on each shaft, Blue is high, Orange and Red are mid kickers, and Brown is a low kick. Blue shafts get up to 130g and Browns go as low as 106g. The are know for their solid feel and control. Very popular in wedges.
