  1. Up or down will work Mike. Most install down to keep the shaft plain at address.
  2. The insert is a very new option only created a few months ago based on a request from TSG members here to replicate a G-Field Premium Zone type of insert. The reason for it's cost is that Sasaya-san hand cuts every one, grooves them, machines them and finishes them. It's a very detailed precise process to create the best feel and roll. Those who have the insert will tell you how amazing the feel is and how well it supposedly rolls the ball. It's definitely a premium upgrade and will give a different feel than just the milled face. I'm not so much an insert guy so I have no problems with the standard Gold's putter made the way I like it.

    You need one of these:

Driver, FW's Irons and Utility... look high tech...

You can get a Srixon putter from here if you'd like... they are definitely different when it comes to design... heavy emphasis on high MOI.
  6. Brian I think you are on to something here... I love the lightweight shafts and everyone knows that... I use 65-75g graphite iron shafts and I let tons of people hit my epons and they are all shocked at how wonderful the feel is... a high quality lightweight shaft with feel matched with Epon's forged head. I tell them too, I'm 100% certain it's the shaft and head combo complimenting each other. My fitter put Project X 6.0's in his AF-301, also found them harsher than what he expected... switched to Nippon 1050's and a world of difference... the feel returned and he's happy once again. The shaft makes a major impact. Sometimes it's really a lot of experimenting which, yes is not cheap, I had Axiv graphite in my ViQ's earlier this year... great match... put them into my g-Field CCB-1's... ugh... lost the feel.
  7. The Tour Seida's are a bit more crisp as bogeydog said, the epon's are very soft but spin like mad due to the right angle grooves.. the seida's are probably the better fit for the steep digger..., both excellent wedges that will probably be easier to use than the Zodias.... (I've used all three and the Zodia's were the most difficult for me)
  8. Yes 4.5 on the Rifle scale is listed as an R flex on the Royal Precision site if I remember correctly.
  9. J, now you can send me some of your Cleveland stuff... but I'll need a softer flex.
  10. I like a driver that is long, straight, feels good and sounds good. (^_^)
  11. the deal won't be finalized until next spring... but it'll be interesting to see how they influence each other product wise and how they integrate their touring pros... HiBore XL I've only been able to hit it at the range... got a US Spec one with the fujikura gold... it's straight and long but the feel doesn't do it for me... the Burner I have has better feel but none match the Epon's "feel"
  12. I guess that means PGAPro is now a pro for a Japanese Company and I can put that HiBore XL I have downstairs in my bag. (^_^)
  13. Cleveland Golf was sold by Quicksilver to Sri Sports Japan for 132 million today. This will be interesting if they revamp cleveland...
  14. As far as I can see K, no changes. Both are still 100% ONOFF except for putters. Yui is using a custom CB247 in black with Labospec prototype shafts and Hyun-Ju is using the same irons as you with Roddio I-6's. Was this the issue you were looking at from the summer?
  15. Sorry Todd, all the testing for this one was done outdoors at a country club.
  16. Bat has chosen a good one too, the new X-Drives are very true to loft and do spin low, I think the 460 with stock shaft was doing 1800 to 2200 on the Vector...
  17. Yes it is forged by Endo.
  18. What's your swing speed? I think you should definitely give the Srixon ZR-700 with it's new starburst face a try, it's replaced all the ZR-600's on the Japanese tour and some of those guys have 120mph swings...
  19. Thanks for the detailed response! (^_^)
  20. T, The CBA710 Bag is not bad quality for it's price. It's nylon so you can't expect it to be like poly urethane but the bag still looks good! Lung-chia, I've actually had many yard sales this season as I've gone through this season 14 drivers, 12 sets of irons, 20 putters and 20 or so wedges.... it's been quite a year. The pics above are my bag at a given time... right now the G-Field Driver is a place holder really as I'm in between drivers even though I do have a MacTec NV-NX, HiBore XL and Burner here right now... The C&L is nice... check my blog for more pics... (^_^)
  21. The top 3 long drivers in Japan currently are part of the Works golf team and they hit the Works Distance Rod. The lowest loft available though is only 9.5. All three drive over 400+ yards. The great thing about the ZR600 and why so many Srixon staffers used it too was that the true loft was in fact also lower than the stated loft like the Yamaha 425V.

While it's not listed in the Pro shop TSG is still an authorized Zodia dealer including all Japanese models like the Chiba, and Premium Versions as well as KM Tours. Just give Chris a PM.
  23. I was totally thinking of Works actually, the long drivers from Team Japan and Korea all use works drivers. Let me find that article
  24. will certainly provide as much info as I can... most shafts that are coming out these days are built with larger driver CC's in mind to preven twisting, this one should excel with large heads.
  25. Hi Breal, larger number is less offset. ie the face progression of an AF-301 iron is 3.75 and for the AF-701 5 iron which has more offset it is 1.75
