My thinking exacly C!! (^_^)

Here are the fonts available for sole engraving from Epon...

Exactly R, that's why I told him to put it at the grip side, he's not trying to get the head to feel heavier... he is trying to mimic an increase in shaft weight. I'm just warning him that it will change swingweight (either way it would). And honestly it Jack, just adding lead tape won't make it perform like a 73g diamana, it'll just mess with overall weight and swingweight.
-
Haha after posting this thread, my entire bag has changed.... will redo the WITB after all the new goodies arrive! (^_^)
-
I like the new logo, it's definitely different from the old one which I didn't mind as well but there were those who always wondered, what is a "Technity"?? (^_^) As Claus said the 301's look like they setup so wonderfully at address. Just so clean. My choice of iron though will be the AF-701. I just love the look and cannot wait to hit them.

A stiff shaft could have other affects on your swing as well Henry and the heavier shaft will change swingweight and could in face slow your swingspeed down. If you like the feel of the flex you currently use and the weight, perhaps a shaft with similar weight and flex but a higher kickpoint to bring the ballflight down would help?
-
You cannot duplicate the 73g exactly as that extra weight is spread out throughout the shaft but try placing 10 grams of lead tape around the shaft just below the grip. No mater where you stick it though will have consequences on the shaft's swing weight. I'll have to dig out the article I read on lead tape placement on the shaft and how it affects playability based on where it is placed.

In most cases Sasaya only builds custom putters when they are personal designs otherwise they are just plain PS 1 and 2's.
-
Actually what Sasaya-san said was that he's using a 110g Mamiya Frequency filter shaft, and the total weight came out to 572g but the head feels way to heavy because of the lighter shaft. Without using a long grip he had to add a cartridge (I'm guessing in the butt end to balance it out) the weight exceeded 600g! When the head is this heavy and a FF shaft is used, Sasaya is recommending the cartridge when only a regular iomic midsized is used.

Very subtle and slick Lung-chia, I like how you have HULC on the neck. (^_^)

Bettinardi 1st Article Signature putter (traintracks) impressions.

Nice review Rob, thanks for the feedback. Similar sentiments as Chris on how well it rolls. Very accurate putter and a very unique milling. (^_^) -
Actually Chris can confirm since he has them in his possession, but apparently their are minor spec changes like an even bigger face (longer heel to toe) and I swore he said to me deeper... so yeah a bigger face... (^_^) as well as different headweight from the previous model.
-
Tungsten weights in the sole of the 701 which is the replacement for the X.
-
There are changes in specs as well. And also completely new products like the AF-701 (also in my avatar, hit refresh if you don't see it) (^_^)

The glossy black chrome finish definitely looks great. We're confirming where the finishing gets done. Look so good I want one too... (^_^) -
GOLD's FACTORY ** TOUR SPEC ** Premium Insert Putter w/PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The one on Ebay is the one you guys see above. It has all of Sasaya-san's priciest and best options... definitely one of a kind. -
Nice work D, very pretty pics. I didn't realize you had gone back to so much TS gear. Awesome!

The two shafts are definitely very different starting with weight alone which will make the way they play different from one another. The S200 is over 20g heavier each shaft which usually translates into less torque and stiffer feel. Definitely lower trajectory on the S200's. As idrive mentioned a great alternative to px 5.5's would be stiff Black Golds or stiff NS Pro 1150's. They would be closer in weight range and trajectory characteristics.

Bettinardi JAPAN 1st Article DASS Signature Series w/PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Remember guys it's not an insert. It is MILLED that way! Robert, these are far more rare than the MR 300 pieces released in Japan. These would essentially be the prototypes for those, the first run, we haven't confirmed the exact number of pieces available (Chris was supposed to call bob yesterday) but it is maybe just a few. Chris was lucky to get 3. -

Rob, let us know how it plays. It sure is a beauty, Chris told me today it rolls the ball wonderfully with that milled face. -
That's pretty new R, it's already using the new variation of the logo. I like it - will get. (^_^)

I never put much weight into whether there is a lot of a specific model of club for sale. There just happen to be less R7 Forged around as it is considered a limited model. Lots of people buy Epon and it's not uncommon to see them for sale because the people who buy them love to change clubs a lot. Myself included. If you look at other sites you see tons of the same items whether it be tour issue R7 driver heads or whatever for sale. People buy, try, and ho their clubs. In the end I wouldn't base my decision on what's for sale and not but what's best for me. There was a set of R7 Forged on ebay last week for 695 buy it now I think, I was tempted to pull the trigger but got Srixon ZR-600's instead because I felt the grind better suited my swing. The Type S will indeed be more forgiving and as Jack said, with any iron purchase, the shaft is what will make the head. What I have found is that irons are truly a personal thing as any club is. I love collecting my irons but the fact is some just don't work for me, but may work for others. Lots to choose from out there for sure. Your handicap must be not bad if your playing the X-Forged so you can handle both irons for sure. The R7 will be more compact than the Type S, thinner sole, more comparable to the J's and ZR-600.

Bettinardi JAPAN 1st Article DASS Signature Series w/PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The one in the pro shop for $997 was the limited edition Japanese MR putter that sold out. There were 300 of those made for Japan. I think there are only 9 of these 1st Art ones. Chris will call Bettinardi tomorrow to confirm.
