  1. No most irons are Taper Tip 0.355 not 0.335" (which many driver shafts are) which are the most common iron shafts. NS Pro shafted OEM irons are all 0.355" though Nippon does offer 0.370 as shafts only. Now that you mention this are you sure you weren't telling me this morning that your hybrid is 0.355 not 0.335 which would make more sense as most JDM hybrids seem to be 0.350-0.370? ^_^
  2. Should be 0.355 like most JDM irons unless they shipped initially with graphite.
  3. The axiv shafts are very very smooth. I am still thrilled with mine. Graphite in irons has come a long way. These axiv's honestly give up nothing to steel dispersion wise but are much easier to swing with more feel. I can't see myself going back to steel...
  4. I've still never heard of them and I read almost every Japanese golf publication monthly... I also did a search on them in Japanese and nothing came up. It's possible they have a Japanese name but are not a Japanese brand.
  5. Great feedback Dragon! Every new driver takes getting used to and once you understand the timing and feel of the Epon/Roddio combo as you're beginning to do, the results will be fantastic. I'm impressed at your swingspeed how you play such long driver shafts, may I ask how tall you are? I think you hit it on the nail with the cosmetics of this driver, the head is big, it's 460cc's afterall but the shape is very classic and eye pleasing. And the Roddio finish is superb! Play this more and once the honeymoon is over, give us an update on how it's going!
  6. I got my clubfitter who swings 102-105mph consisently a 7068 and he felt it was just right and he can NOT overpower it. He can however take it 300yards pretty straight. Offtheback gave good advice I always use. Go for the softest shaft you can control... if it's too soft at least you can learn to control it. If it's too stiff there's not much you can do about it. If your bad shot is a hook and you're determined to go with the close to 70g weight then get the V 7068. From what I've seen with the V Spec is that dispersion is so good that the range of flex that a person can use is pretty wide... it will all come down to personal preference and feel. My fitter took the 7068 even though it's an SR and he could probably easily hit the 7072 or higher. He likes the slightly softer feel of the 7068 for his swing speed.
  7. lifesonleepeart - Welcome to the forums here.... I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself and go broke like the rest of us sharing our love for golf and gear.... Every new driver takes a bit of getting used to, give the E500 a chance... you'll love the Hyper ERC, it's a bomb@! kawika5150 - Nice review... glad to hear the driver is working out for you.
  8. Great to hear you got the B, look forward to seeing pics and feedback. I bet you can't wait to hit them... look foward to some pics and a review.... maybe it's time to complete the JDM bag with some new wedges... (^_^)
  9. I love the shape and finish... I've always wanted to add a bettinardi to my collection. (^_^)
  10. I think you're right R and the CV Pro was definitely aimed towards the lower handicapper. RC Pro's loved it. Hey but you're good enough to hit it... even with your swing speed, matching it with the right Axiv and hitting it on the sweetspot will go .... (^_^) It was so popular in fact that it's still listed on RC's website as current product. The face is pretty deep if I remember correctly. Did you get the wrench for the adjustable little weights? Apparently the CV Pro is also great in windy conditions.
  11. Sounds like an interesting test AJ... look forward to your results!
  12. From what I hear there definitely should be new bags on the way down the road....
  13. Did you get one? I thought nothing was going to knock the Hyper ERC out of your bag T?
  14. The response has been good on the E500 from higher handicap golfers in Japan. The face is very forgiving, with a large sweetspot, however this large speet spot produces tight dispersion on shots, in other words off center hits don't go all over the place but stay in a tight range. Mizuno fans in Japan have been craving for the 460 Craft especially mid to lower handicap players...
  15. There are actually two versions of the Quad shaft, the normal Quad that is stock on many of the Mizuno drivers then the Quad Butt Standard which is the higher end shaft that competes with Axiv, Roddio and Diamana etc... The feedback on this new 460 Craft has been very very positive, the critics only greeted the 425 Craft with lukewarm reviews saying it was far to hard a driver to hit for the average golfer. Popular with the pros but not really anyone else. The 460 however has been designed differently with a far larger sweetspot, different weight placements focused on producing on distance and boring trajectory...
  16. Very nice pics sarintr! Thanks for sharing... this is something I haven't tried yet!
  17. Here's the info. A shallower more flattened out head for more forgiveness and easier to get the ball up in the air... not as easy as the ViQ to hit but easier than the regular X-Drive:
  18. Anytime my friend, that's what I'm here for...
  19. RC unfortunately can be all over the place sometimes with their wood designations. For example their new FD Fairway has a 5 wood listed as 20* and 4 wood at 18* then three different 3 woods at 14, 15 and 16*. Also he is hitting the Type H not Type H II which indeed does have the + designation for stronger woods, a 4+, 5+ 7+ and 9+. ^_^: http://www.royalcollection.co.jp/newproduc...item_id=0005_01 It's okay R, you can disagree with me sometimes, I'm not always right and still learning as well, but this time I was right. (^_^)
  20. Some manufacturers place a "+" designation after the FW number to indicate a stronger loft than standard. For example a typical 3 wood is 14 or 15* but Tourstage's 3+ FW is 13.5*. So in this case I think RC is just saying it's a strong 5 wood at 18* rather than RC's typical 20* loft for a 5 wood.
  21. You can hit that beast a long way can't you Chris?
  22. According to Ping Japan's website, the Rapture design was indeed re-engineered for the Japanese market as a forgiving athlete model. As Cameron said, this includes stronger lofts, different lies and less offset. A 3 iron though is available as an extra club.
  23. Three Luck Sky Dream Jump D-tour Type Bite Wedge in the house! Actually the wife has claimed it and it's now going in her bag! Nice looking wedge, chipped a few on the carpet and it's got a nice feel with a compact head.
  24. I'm not a fan of the UST filtered shaft. I prefer a good old steel shaft with some good weight like the Nippon putter shafts. I think most steel shafts can do the job, it's a question finding the right weight for you and matching it to your head with the right swingweight.
  25. I actually have a Three Luck wedge that I will compare with the Copper wedge later this week, but as of now, the Coppers are still in the bag!
