shaft for j340...
Yeah, I was going to recommend the TrTi...but not because it feels/plays like DG. I hesitate to do so because the TrTi puts a lot of spin on the ball. I don't think you want to add too much spin to the J340, being that it imparts a good amount of spin itself. No, I'd think that something like the SKW, 771TA, or even the (light) 660TR would be perfect for what he's looking for. The shaft I play in it, the 652, is necessary for me because it's 8.5*. If I had the head he has I'd go with one of the shafts I just mentioned.

shaft for j340...
What do you consider "light shafts?"
-
which shaft for my new 970 ..tourspec 652 or pro 95??
I played the HK-Pro80 in both fairway woods and a 10.5* driver. It worked well in both, really helping the driver produce a flatter trajectory than otherwise possible. But the Pro80 is EXCELLENT in fairway woods. The BEST I've played. Sets up well for hard swinger, fast temp--with a moderately stiff tip. Kiertos, I you think you want a High Kick shaft for your J then you should strongly consider the SKW. It's a little lighter than the HK-Pro80, a litte softer tip that will definitely help you work the open face on the J340. HK in the fairway wood...SKW in the driver.

TourStage F/ST Fairways
I play a F-ST and it amuses me when people say they hook them. I find them solid and above average in length. More importantly they are consistent and very solid feeling. Sonartec/Royal Collections felt like bricks to me. V Steel feel a little light. I did like the Cally SHIII and was even able to handle its closed face. I guess I'm just an odd one. I haven't hit the F-UT but play its older sibling, the V017. In my opinion they are different beast than the F-ST. At least my V017 doesn't feel like F-ST even though they are similar in shape/style. It's not a solid feeling. The V017 is versital in the fairway and the rough. The F-ST is nice in the fairway and hitting of the tee.

983 E with 660 TR X from Jow Kwok: first impression
I agee with Jim. I've had three different 983s--with 757, 661, and a 660TR. The sound is definitely louder than muted Tourstages, as an example, but not offensively so....I'm a stickler for such things and it didn't bother me.

Hybrid Shootout TM TP Rescue/TourStage Air Muscle/Hogan CFT
No problem at all! I am glad that I could be of help. I definetly do not think that the Air Muscle would be what you are looking for. (BTW, PM returned! ) I just bought some SYB to try but I think I know what would work best; I couldn't resist buyin the SYB--they were being dumped for pocket change. If these Concept dont' work I'm going with TS202s w/PX 5.5. I've found 3 and 4 irons but would love to find a 2. Doesn't that seem like it would work well with my z101s and my DD Spec? Sounds like a very sweet setup. I have heard great things about those TS202 long irons. I bet the 2 iron would be very nice. I dont know if it would be better than the Air Muscle for a 2 iron though. For a 2 iron the AM is very very good. Not getting along with your Club X these days? I like the idea of versitility for this perticular spot in the bag and I think a club like the Hogan is the way to go over a 2 iron or 5 wood. Just sent you a PM.... Right now the v017 is killing me. One time it hits straight low bullets, the next time I'll hit a power fade. When I try to draw it--MISSION IMPOSSIBLE--there's no hope. Yeah, I'm not getting along with it.

PRGR DUO HIT 3 Wood
It's a 3 wood, 15* with M46 stock shaft. Now my PRGR bag is complete. :D :D Nice bag...I was asking the face angle--closed or open? Not loft. Thanks.

The Z101's vs the Hogan Apex Plus's
Yeah, I've noticed...I also think he says he doesn't hit the ball high enough anyway. The search is on. Once again I'm flummoxed in the 17*-21* range.

The Z101's vs the Hogan Apex Plus's
I guess you have ever thing dial in there. Like Mike said, can you weaken the loft of a z101 6-iron for the little higher ball flight? You should'nt lose too much distance. Other then that, I say, if it works then it's all good. I'm going to replace my 4 iron and v017 with #3 and #4 driving iron types...and come down to a 15* instead of the 13* I have.

Tourstage Air Muscle review
Thanks, Primo...you know we've been waiting to hear about the AM for ssssssOOOOOO long. You mentioned that it has a lower trajectory off the tee...then you mentioned that hitting it off the deck was like hitting a 5 iron and difficult to get it in the air in the wind. So let me ask, how hight do you hit your 5 iron? And which AM were you referring to, #2 or #3? I ask this because I can hit my 5 iron kinda high so the AM might not be that bad in this case. As for the feel, would you say they felt close or similar to a regular iron more like all other clubs of this type, i.e. Fli-Hi, Fourteen, etc? Which of these type feels best? Did you get in good swings from the rough? I'm hoping to replace a rescue type club but also want "rescue" type performance occasionally in a driving iron...is the AM versatile enough? Thanks.
