  1. Got mine yesterday! Awesome clubs and awesome service. Looking forward to the weekend!!
  2. My order is in!!!! Extremely excited!!! These look beautiful. I'm all about good looking clubs!!!
  3. I was planning on putting black fill in the TP logo and now I know what it is going to look like. THey look perfect now. How do you take the crome off?
  4. I had the same issue when I was buying my R7's, face progression means that they measure from the center of the shaft to the leading edge of the shaft. Therefore the shorter irons which have less offset will have a higher measured number than a 2 iron which is closer to the center of the shaft. The offsets for standard R7 and R7 Forged are very similar.
  5. Okay, I may be the first to hang up the Forged irons. I have mp-32's on the way and possibly a set of mp 67's. I tried them out at a golfsmith and loved the 67's. I found the 32's used but in like new condition for a great price. I used to own the 32's but now i think my swing has gotten tight enough to try them again. The 67's just feel awesome, the weight is more behind the ball and you can tell the ball is going forward and not up. who knows maybe once I have all three the R7's may stay in. I finally have a full bag of TM stuff and now I want to switch it up, AHHHHHHHH
  6. I keep reading that the MP-32's are a players cavity back disguised in a blade. Is this right?

How are the matte black doing? How is the wear? Do you have pics??

Is the black flat finish very durable? Is it ilike the nickel plating? Or will it wear off like the Black Pearl on the Cleveland CG10's
  9. The last Titleist bag looks like it is going to transform into a giant robot and destroy something, awesome!!!!
  10. I've tried the Candy Proto/F7-M and Altus. Thinking about the TP-7X and or TP-7 but cost is keeping me away. Altus is an unbelievable shaft. The transfer of energy is unlike any other shaft I have tried. You really see the benefit when you make a smooth swing, slow back and then increase acceleration on the way down. Jerking it in the transition is right death. Otherwise hang on and watch the ball launch like a missle. Even though it is a high launch low spin shaft, I have my driver set to low w/ 12, 1, 1, 12 setup. Its windy around here in FL so I don't want to balloon. I also love the feel at impact of having the weights up front. I tried with the weights in the back and I don't like the feel and sound.
  11. It's hilarious to see how much we know more about golf clubs than a lot of these repair guys and mom/pop places or even national chains. When I had mine reshafted the guy at my local edwin watts did not know what it was but by the time I was picking them up he had ordered himself his own set, I think I even told him to order from Tourspec. Another guy at a different place I had reshaft my driver with an Altus and he had no clue what kind of shaft that was. How can these guys be in business and not know all there is to know about all the different equipment out there? Both are good at what they do but I guess they just don't visit the forum boards like they should to keep their customers informed of all the latest and greatest. It would help them generate so much more business too. Since it is a hobby for me I'm totally into it but if it was a job I'm sure it would be different.
  12. Awesome clubs, I'm not thinking of every switching these out.......unless they come out with a black version I just bought my set from Tourspec, but it came with the NSPro's since they were out of stock of the x100's. I switched them out and put x100's in and my game has just gotten better. I bought the 2 iron and now it is my favorite club on short and tight par 4's or for second shots on par 5's. The feel is beyond the R7Tp's which I also had for about a month before deciding to stick with the forged. Forgiving as much as any other club I have tried and as long as the longest clubs I've tried. A truly beautiful set of clubs that I just do not understand why they don't release it in the US but for me it is good that they don't. I like the looks on the cart guy's face when he sees these and dosen't know what to make of it.

Ahh, you have a lime colored shaft of your own!! Very nice bag, I love the look of the TM old school staff bag, I don't have enough game to carry one of those around. Really like the look of the wedge, thinking about changing mine to TM after I wear mine down.

I see you are a TM man too!! Lime and black are awesome, it gets a lot of attention especially when I bomb one off the 1st tee.

Thanks for the complements. I play to a 12. I know I'm going to hear it, "you should be using hybrids" etc... This is my game and why I believe my handicap should be dropping in the next few months because I dumped the hybrids and fairway wood. They actually have been attributing to my handicap rather then helping. I am finally totally confident with my clubs and have no issues with using any of them: I am 28 years old. 5'7" in height and fairly athletic (can bench 300+ lbs). I have a smooth tempo with all my clubs. I've only been playing this game for a little over 2 years. Fairly long driver - average 280 w/ several reaching 300 + in a round (SS 105-110). I average PW at 130+ and 2 iron at 230+/-. High ball hitter with the irons and mid with the driver. I have never been able to hit a fairway wood or hybrid except for on the tee. I believe that the 2 iron allows for a larger margin of error while the hybrids require me to hit them almost perfect or else they bounce off the turf and even in the rough I think hybrids glide over the grass and do not let you dig. I just bought the 2 iron two weeks ago and now it is my favorite club. The courses I play with my group are around 6500 yards so at my length I really don't need woods. It could be useful one day when I decide I want to try the tips but I'll wait until my HC comes down some more. My real issue is getting up and down. I honestly just learned how to get out of bunker correctly two months ago. I used to use the leading edge instead of the bounce. My chipping is getting better. I'm more accurate with my wedges far off the green then when I'm close to the fringe. Could be that the Cally Hot balls are just not checking up for me or I am not gauging roll out enough. My putter I just purchased about 3 weeks ago and it has been a very good addition, many a boogey have been saved by this new putter. Reason I believe my handicap should be coming down shortly, I am getting at least one of my 9's in at 40 or below in a round. I usually have a higher 40+ 9 holes then a low 40- 9 holes. I need to get both 9 to be low and I believe I'm getting closer. I still have the occasional triple boogey, and a couple of doubles. Okay now for the ozik, Holy Shiiiiiiiiiiiii. This thing is by far the best shaft I have ever hit. I know people who have never hit one think it is just hype but its not. I'm sure there are other shafts out there that can produce the same distances I am getting but none that I have tried have been near as good as this one. My past shafts have been Rombax 75g Xflex, 75g Sflex, Diamana Blue 73g S flex and Ozik F7-M x flex. This shaft is for the smooth swinger. I used to have a hard abrupt transition that could yield long distances but could also put balls OB. You have to be smooth for this thing to work. And by being smooth I have straightened out my drives tremendously. Don't buy a stiffer flex just so that it feels right. When I swing it feels like the slowest swing of all my clubs, its almost effortless. The shaft just generates so much energy and expells it right at impact. I have not been on a launch monitor with this shaft though. What it has done for my game is find fairways and be consistently past everyone in my group. I want to try a TP-7 or TP-7x but at $1,000.00 I'm not sure it will be cost efficient.

This is my bag, I actually do not lug the staff bag around, that sits next to the pool table and holds extra clubs and pool cues. I have a Nike stand bag that I actually use. Another view of my weapons R7 Japanese Forged w/ X100's bent 3* flat PW-2 Iron standard length Cleveland CG10's 60* low bounce, 56* high bounce but grinded to low bounce, 52* standard bounce. All bent 3* flat. Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #3 cut down to 32". I'm a short guy. Lime Green Ozik Altus plays 45" tipped 1/2" SX A great shaft needs a great head. 9.5* Superquad bent 1* open and 2* flat. Weight setup at 12, 1, 1 12. Spare 9.5 Superquad w/ spare Matrix Ozik SX 1/2" tipped in Candy Red. My stock pile of golf balls. Really like the Cally Hot for distance and HX Tour for around the green. ProV1X is great but dosen't seem to fly as far. I hate the nikes, I bought them on sale, they are shag bag balls now. Pinseeker 1500 w/ slope
  18. I had both clubs at the same time and played both sets on different occasions to compare. Personally there is no comparison. Forged are much better feeling, more solid on contact. They do not have that weird clanking sound, I don't know if it is just a TM thing or if it is a cast iron thing but the TP sound hallow at contact. The forged seem to not have as much bounce, nicer feel going into the turf after contact. Looks are obvious, I think if they took off the plastic thing on the back of the TP it would be okay but the forged just look perfect. Per the japanese TM website the forged are supposed to be more forgiving too. Offsets are pretty similar, very little. If you need to tweek your lies then of course forged are more adapted to that while cast have a better chance at snapping if you need to go 3* plus up or down. I think the forged are smaller than the TP's from what I remember. Didn't see much difference in distance or in forgiveness.
  19. Wow, that is a great price considering "other places" are charging a lot more. Are they in stock and ready to ship or is their a waiting period.
  20. Only those flexes? Do you have other flexes?
  21. Sweetest feeling irons I have hit to date. There probably is no reason for me to keep the R7tp's around any more. The Forged have a more solid sound and feel to them. I took them out on the range and my mis**ts seemed to go nicely, slight loss in yardage of course that is expected but they stayed pretty straight. I love these clubs and thank Jaques at Tour Spec for dealing with my constant emails and keeping me from cancelling on my order. WHat to do with the R7 TP's??? :tsg_smilie_whistle:
  22. WOO HOOO they are here, beautiful and shinny. Can't wait to hit em.
  23. Thats cool, I think in the end it is a personal choice anyways. We want to believe we buy things for function over looks just like how we pick our significant others but in the end it really is the looks that appeal to us at first. The R7 Forged is damn sexy and I am kinda a brand name ho when it comes to my clubs. But I also fell into this trap when I bought my MP32's. Hopefully the forged will be my end all for irons. THe R7 TP's I have now feel to big and look to big to me at address. And if you and others on other sites have all said the forged are the best for TM ever than I am satisified with that since they do make pretty damn good clubs. I've never hit the other clubs mentioned on your list but maybe I'm better for not hitting them or else I could be ho'n more clubs....must....stop.....running....out of ......cash......
  24. Could this mean that the testing might have a slight bias since TM isn't your cup of tea??? I hate to read that my clubs that I have just ordered and am waiting for get the last place finish. :tsg_smiley_no: Well one man's trash is anothers gold mine right? The R7's are definitly the most beautiful looking set. Are they about the same size as the standard R7 TP with about the same amount of offset???
  25. I just got an email saying mine has finally shipped. I hope so, I hope the hype is true. I couldn't wait anymore so I went ahead and bought the R7 tp US version. Traded in the Mizuno 32's. So far the R7 TP is good but much bigger in head size than the 32's. I hope the Forged are a little smaller. What is the forgiveness between the 32's and the forged? I hope there is a significant increase in forgiveness since it is a cavity back.
