Thanks guys, Great suggestions!! Because I plan on keeping them forever.... I have decided to use "idrive" it is the name I use on several (all) the forums I participate in. My second choice would be "custom" because they definately will be. Will post some pics when they arrive... a month from now?? Thanks again idrive

Hey Guys... I am in the process of designing a set of EPON AF301's I am going to do the sole engraving. Can't decide exactly what to put on them. I'm thinking: "idrive" my last name first name first name with last name initial first name initial and last name "custom" "1ofakind" ?????? any ideas? and no, I'm not going to put your name on them...
  3. I'll have to admit that "feel" is a huge part of Putting. HOWEVER... give me a Putter that rolls the ball better than another Putter and I'll take the better roll, more accurate Putter any day. I must admit I am anxious to put this Putter to the test. I haven't found anything that even comes close to knocking my Golds Factory out of the bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Engraving on the sole: Capitol letters only??
  5. Really starting to like the wedges more and more. It seems that I can pull off any shot I can think of or even try for that matter. Guess that's the grind thing. Saw the Cubs win the only game they won in Arizona...
  6. They come recommended the same as the X-wedge. IMO Excellent wedge
  7. IMO If you figure cost into the equation... EPON Copper X-Wedge is #1 The Chikara wedges are my #1 choice to play where cost isn't an issue.
  8. I must admit I have never owned a Bettinardi Putter before. This is the first time I have been really tempted....
  9. + 1 The 950GH is a much higher ball flight compared to the S200's I have found the S200 (for me) to have one of the lowest trajectories of all of the shafts I have played. I have two sets of Irons shafted with the S200's Initially I was considering just changing them out. After playing with them a copuple of times I have to admit that I really like the shafts. At this point the only shaft (for my Irons) I prefer over the S200's are the Black Golds. Also, I find I can't feel or notice a discernable difference between the S200 and S300's

That would be good for me... I seem to be making a habit out of losing the ball marker and am left with just the clip.

I want two!!!! One for my White and for my Blue EPON hat!!!! BTW I love my EPON hats. I would like to see them in the Pro Shop too.
  12. Well... I must respectfully disagree with you there... Two different manufacturing plants... different quality control... I'm not saying they are not the same. But I (and you) buy J-spec eq. because we know it is the very best it can be. If I can buy BG shafts made in Japan, that's what I'd rather have.
  13. I have seen the Mizuno bag in person... I wouldn't be surprised if they were made by the same people that make the adidas bag. Excellent bags IMO
  14. I have a similar adidas bag and the tourstage bag. Of those two the TS bag has more room. Both are excellent bags. Quality is outstanding. The adidas bag draws a lot of attention. Most people do not know the TS brand but they sure want to know where the adidas bag came from. IMO the Mizuno 45CM80010 is the better of the two Mizuno bags (more room) I would never buy a TM bag...
  15. Well.... quality?... consistancy?? All the things and reasons we buy J-spec eq.

I have a set that I practice with. I have hit them extensively and on occasion not cleaned them like I do all of my clubs. The sand wedge that has hit.... 5-600? sand shots... 3-400? off the turf shots.... is showing a very, very slight (must look closely) tinge of green of the sole. I would say this club has 5 years or better of average use in it by the average golfer. The club in general still looks excellent. No Rust.
  17. I was just wondering if we are going to be able to buy the Black Gold Shafts. "Made in Japan" anytime soon through the Pro Shop?

I am swinging right about 100-103 with my driver. I have the Tempo down pretty smooth. The Roddio W6ba SR is working very nicely. I had the same shaft in Stiff and the SR is just as good for me if not better. T - E - M - P - O the Axiv-v 7072, in Stiff flex (the shaft in my other EPON) is only .2 less torque. Pretty tough to tell that little difference apart. **EDIT I am wrong.. the difference is .4 less torque 4.0 for the Roddio (SR) compared to 3.6 for the Axiv-v 7072-Stiff The Roddio W6ba in stiff flex is 3.9 torque
  19. I have just recently gone to the 4 wedge set up. Very very similar to Blader X I am using CHIKARA wedges Wedge #1 Loft: 60° - Bounce: 10° - Lie Angle: 60.5* Shaft: True Temper S400" Used for approach shots of 60 yards and less, open faced high lob shots, back-in-the-stance running shots and everything else in-between. Probably the most used wedge of the three. I do however do not use this wedge for any bunker shots. Wedge #2 Loft: 55° - Bounce: 13° - Bent from 56*/14* - Lie Angle: 61* Shaft: True Temper S400 Used for approach shots of 75 yards and less and all green side (blast) bunker shots. Also wedge selected for most green side shots in real fluffy lies where contact may be a little dicey. Will also use for back-in-the-stance chips as well depending on the lie. Wedge #3 Loft: 51° - Bounce: 8° - Bent from 52*/9* - Lie Angle: 61° Shaft: True Temper S400 Used for approach shots of 100 yards and less, long chip and runs and other shots around the green where I have lots of green to work with. I really like the versatility the extra wedge in my bag gives me. This is the first time I have been able to make a 60* work for me. It just keeps getting better every day. The EPON Copper X wedges are no slouch either. They could go right into the bag without any problem. But I do find the Chikara's just a bit more versatile.
  20. bigjack, the seller is in Columbus Oh
  21. Anyone know who the guy is?? Seems like he would be a member here... Really surprised to see it listed.
  22. IMO... the detour is a disaster!!!!!! Don't buy one without demoing one first...

The J's PW loft is 46* and then work down 4* to the next loft down to the 5 iron. Pretty standard and almost weak compared to some. The most loft I've seen (in recent years)for a PW is 48* with 4* drops. Seems that a lot of the game improvement irons, 46* is considered weak. 44 and 45* PW is almost normal anymore with some 5* drops down to the 9 and 8 iron. I'm assuming you are looking to weaken the lofts. This will of course add a bit more bounce to the clubs. Unless your playing conditions are a bit softer than most I'm not sure that would be the best idea. However, bending the clubs 2* weaker, it's possible you may not even notice the difference in the bounce. I don't think a 2* bend would look distorted at all. I'm not sure you'd notice the difference by looking. IMO I play with a set of J's now (technica pro 1's) and am very pleased with the lofts. The bounce set up seems to play just right for me. I have bent my 52* gap wedge to 51* and have excellent coverage thru the yardages. I'm already designing my nest set of EPON's for when the new models become available. This custom engraving thing is going to be fun.

My TS 460 X-drive with the Axiv-v Shaft has a very similar launch to the EPON. IMO, with the same shaft, their doesn't seem to be much noticeable difference in the trajectory. If their is the TS is SLIGHTLY lower.

*Edit I have a 10.5 EPON shafted with a Roddio W-6BA SR, and one with a Axiv-v 7072 S. Both of these are producing excellent ball flight (mid). NO ballooning. I have always hit a 8.5 or 9.5 lofted driver, First time ever for a 10.5* I'm not sure if the X-drive is forged. I can't find anywhere that it says it is. Most of the info on the website is in Japanese... http://www.tourstage.com/index.html
