Liquid Metal putters
I tried a putter with Liquid Metal on the head. I wonder if anyone knows about it. It felt great, very soft but accurate.

BERES TW901 FOR A MID HANDICAP?
Unfortunately I belong to the first group who I believe make the second possible. If you like the Honma buy it and enjoy it. I did too and have been pleased with the brand. The balance is perfect, the feel is nice and buttery, the distance is good and the resale value is high. Just enjoy life the way you like it and can afford it.

Honma in trouble again?
Mine is the LB-280 New H&F which was launched in late 90's to replace the previous LB-280. The New H&F supposed to be a classic with a newer version of the titanium carbon shaft which can be specified in either Type-T (mid kickpoint) or Type-S (low kickpoint). Wow they worry about bend profile in the 90-s already?

Maruman Conductor Power Forged
Yes they are good at making club heads, both irons and woods. Shafts need to be from somebody else.

Honma LB 280 irons
More on LB-280: The LB-280 was first launched in the early 90's and replaced by the LB-280 New H&F in late 90's. I think the latter is the true classic. Last night on the ebay I saw someone from Texas offering a 10-club set with 4-star featherweight shaft and dividing them into the 3-PW set, an indivudual Iron 11 or AW, and the SW on its own. It was more than an hour before closing, the 3-PW already reached in excess of $800, the #11 over $200 and the SW around $60. That was over $1000 for a 7-8 year old set! The opening price was all $10. The description says something like: "For some these are the best golf clubs ever made." And to me that does not sound as an exaggeration! Sometimes a particular model in a brand is a true classic, and the manufacturer has not been able to really duplicate its success. Ping eye2, perhaps. Ford Mustang, perhaps. Mercedes Gullwing, perhaps. Is their a thread about classic clubs?

honma star system
Crazy? Not really. Golf for some people is more fashion than sports. Do you think that people who buy diamond-studded Rolex or Vacheron-Constantine are crazy? Perhaps not. My 5-bucks no-name digital watch is very accurate, but if I can afford those diamond-studded ones I'll get them.

It is reported in the media that Donald Trump loves his gold-lined Honma clubs. Not surprising, they are good clubs.

honma star system
Hmm... Honma appears to have adopted a different approach in star system. In the old titanium carbon line, so I was told, the higher the number of stars, the more the titanium fibres used. Are you sure that they no longer use titanium in the ARMRQ shafts? Wow, so what are we paying for now then?

r7 forged or Type J or Type X
I noticed that in your bag your Honma Dual Attach has an Accra shaft? What made you change a Honma shaft? What type of shaft it was before?

Honma in trouble again?
I have not realized before visiting TSG website that shaft technology is so dominant. If not mistaken Honma was one of the early proponents of the merit of shaft technology. It appears that there are many shaft manufacturers now. Mamiya Axiv also, for instance, uses 4 directional carbon fibre like Honma does with their ARMRQ lines of shaft. So if Honma experience pressure from competition, it won't be surprising. Honma will always be remembered as a manufacturer who promotes feel and distance from clubs. I have an older iron set of Honma LB 280 which compared to the newer models of similarly priced big names such as Callaway, TaylorMade, etc, I think still is unbeaten and gives me the feel that I love. Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to try Epon, Miura, etc. which won't be surprising if better than a 5-year old model of Honma! I hope Honma sort themselves out as I owed my addiction to golf to them.

People buy Honma for their shaft technology.

Honma LB 280 irons
Yes LB 280 is an old technology but I heard there are some people who bought Beres and decided that they prefer the LB 280. The LB 280 in my opinion has the right balance between forgiveness and workability. I compared it to Ping G-5, I can shape the ball with the Honma. The G-5 is too forgiving that it assumes you want to hit the ball straight all the time. The buttery feel at impact is difficult to compare. The other makeslike Callaway, Taylor Made etc have not the feel to my opinion with the exception of the Mizuno MX series. So the LB 280 suits beginner to mid handicapper after which naturally there are paths to progression. Mine is 1-star R-1 flex and it is so satisfying.
