GD GFT-FW Quick Review
Gauge Design 2006 GFT-FW proto 4 wood Spec: 16* with Graphite Design Tour AD I-65 tipped 1/2" at 42.5", D2.5 Total weight: 335 gms. Look: 9.0 Small, pear-like head, black color, simple and traditional. Sole has a big ㄈ shape rail for better forgiveness in the rough, 2 screws at the back of the sole, the sole is also very simple looking with good design. Feel: 9.7 The whole club feel kind of heavy at 335gms total weight compare to regular market fairway woods, but the head is compact and feel like a "Player's club" from the statrt. On impact, the ball explodes off the face and the impact is solid and pure, not gimmick tones or tin can loud noices, very simple and true, like a true good FW should. Trajectory: 9.0 (Mid-High), The trajectory is perfect, the heavy feel in the sole plate definite get the ball high easily, but in no sense that it balloons the balls, the arch is perfect like a true boring trajectory. 10-15 yards of rolls noted off tee and on a good clean lie. Workability: 9.3 Easily workable, fade or draw with out much effort. High shots are easy with simple ball placement and so is the low runners. Forgiveness: 9.0 The small head with about 0 offset does not come well in the mis-hits, ball the distance loss is not too unbearable, mostly miss to the toe. The dispersion on the shots are good when well struck. Distance: 9.8 Ball go far. It's a 4 wood with a 3 wood distance, it is longer than the RC H-type that i tried before on same holes. This club really gives good distance on pure shote off tee and from the short grass. I average 240-250 off the tee and 230 + from the fairway, which is plenty long for me. Conclusion: This thing is for real, it just knocked the 3 wood out of my bag. I like every aspect of it, it's a 4 wood sits like a 5 wood but performs like a 3 wood, so i am and really thinking hard to try a 7wood.

GD Tera quick review
GD Tera Putter, 34", 530gms. Looks: (8.8) very similar to SC Red-X in shape, but the dark soft steel coloring makes the putter more "mean" looking and much or easy to aim for the eyes. The mallet shape is perfect for a straight back and through putting style with matching aim lines. Feel: (9.5) like all GD putters, Tera is very soft on impact with soft cover balls, you hardly feel the ball hit off the face, you kind of feel the ball sticks to the face then jump off it, very good feel. The 530gms total weight is slightly heavier than 90% of the putters in the market, but the heavier sensation does keep the wrist quiet. Rolling: (9.1) the ball gets on a straight line right away, the 3RTNC milling process does keep the ball on face and gets the ball rolling right off the face. This putter is deadly within the 8-10 feet range, but with the longer lag putts, wrist actions tend to get i the way and the ball goes off line a bit more than noted. Conclusion: Forget Scotty Cameron, the soft feel of the GD putters are much more superior than any makes out there by far. The question is the feel, the shape and the weight of the putter fit the eyes, the hand and you or not. This is a good putter for any type of greens.

SQ Tour 460
I really think the numbers for the Distance and forgivess should be higher if I am at the top of my game, since I am not hacking it well, so the numbers for me is low... but, it is just me.

SQ Tour 460
I had played 3 rounds of golf with the Nike SQ TOur 460 iwth GD Tour AD N-65 (prototype) X-flex over the weekend. I will try to give it a quick review in Chris' format. I will rate everything on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being perfect. A perfect total score of 20pts will give it TSG Holy Grail status. Appearance = 4.6 Much much better then the regular SQ, the head is much less distracting, and the color of the club head is grey compare to the total black of the SQ. The face is slightly deeper but not XR-03 like deep and the crown is smaller and easier to swing thru without the gigantic head impression. I love the coloring of the shaft, gold on one side and metallic grey on the other, a very classy and yet funky look. Distance = 3.8 Plenty long, but no spectacularly long, my jaw didn't drop on the pure impact shots. The flight is pretty boring, the trajectory is good on windy days and the carry is good but not super long as I had hoped. The shaft is solid, 67gms with 3.7 torque, very lively and response well. Forgiveness = 4.0 On Saturday, I forgot to bring my swing with me, so I was hitting everything all over the place, and this baby didn't help me much, the fade was a slice, the draw were hooks, so I didn't get much help on the forgiveness area, but heck, it is a TOUR club, and I am no TOUR player. Other 2 rounds, it was decent, but you really need to nail it on the spot to get what you need. Feel = 4.2 The head feels sweet on good impacts, the sound is not as loud as the W505 or the other Japnese make drivers, but it is a solid feel when connected. Overall Score = 16.6 pts A very solid driver, I like it, but I wont be playing it unless I am very good with my swing on the day.

SQ Tour 460
The face is a little deeper than the regular SQ but not much, the real difference is the head sizq, it is no longer a "Big Foot" but a smaller Foot.

Fine Wine Luncheon
jack0428 posted a post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearAt the 3 hour lunch today(lunch, NOT dinner....!), we had six different kinds of top flight red wines(2 bottles of each kind): #1. Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1982 - 100(Robert Parker Rating) - USD1000 per bottle #2. Chateau Haut Brion 1986 - 94 - USD300+ per bottle #3. Chateau Latour 1986 - 90 - USD300+ per bottle #4. Chateau Margaux 1982 - 98 - USD900 per bottle #5. Chateau Cheval Blanc 1982 - 99 - USD1150 per bottle To top them off, the last one is... #6. Chateau Le Pin 1989 - 96 - USD1800 per bottle #1 was extraordinary & shadowed #2 & 3. However, #4 truly lived up to its reputation & brought on a new sensation. #5 was indeed exceptional. #6 was simply out-of-this-world. Since I can still memorize all these, I'm not drunk at all. I dare not to think about the total value of all these fine wine now sitting in my stomach(& bladder). Just for the record, this luncheon will be well remembered.

Nike DFI quick Review
Got to play 2 DFIs, 9.5* and 10.5*, one in Diamana 48gm, the other one in Strixx G 65gms. These babies are hot!!!!!!!!!!!!! The balls leave the face like a rocket, then set on cruise control and just fly forever. The trajectory is mid, true to the loft. I had problem getting the ball high with the 9.5* but perfect lunch angle of 14* with the 10.5*. The Diamana is only 48gms but the entire club feels heavy, a club that I can go after, not much twisting with the 4.2 torque. The only thing bad about this club is its sound at impact, it is like the old Titleist 975D, muted, like a "Thunnng" than a "Kiiuuung". But. 3 words... "BALL GO FAR!!!!" I am getting the 10.5* in Diamana.
