finally got my tourstage 905s back last friday , i took the lighter monacco 122 gram stiff flex shafts out of them and inserted the 135 gram TX..... the stiff came out at SW c9 and while i played them well ,the amount of spin i was generating with them wasnt condusive to my style of play, iwas short. short on everyhting. 100% of the time, i was accurate. but real short.. in comparion to the personals i was about 1/2 club too short. and as the moaccos s dont go that high , playing a 6 iron instead of a normal drop down 7 i shot mucks with yr head....... i didnt realise this till i took the 6i with the tx and drilled about 30 balls a a cpl of weekendsd ago. with monotonous consistancy at the range .. the thought i got these from was doing the same thing i did with the yonex ezones. i took the x-100s out of the ezones ( seriously STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID mistake! ) and played much lighter NS protos i was swinging out of my shoes every shot, so i put a NS proto 2s14 135 grams in and the differnce was startlingly better. so i figuered the 905s are light heads lets have a go...... l. distance was once agian back to " normal" flight was MUCH lower than with te stiff shafts , and the swing weight came in at d2.5-d-3 which is perfect. maybe slighty lower than i like i think iprefer d4-d5 ish now... but all clubs behaved much better. the 7 irons was 'spot on" the PW was great for all shots low back in the stance punch and a cpl of high lobs.. the ONLY think i wasnt 100% kosher on was feeling the head..............................................................., this is an issue for me.............................................., id played the epon perosnals for a week in oz with 130 gram NS c10s and the whole club felt heavy. for a weekend of golf. no probs but playing LOTS of golf over a week, i got very tired with these. and it becamquite noticeable loosing a lot of distance on irtons shots towards the end of the week. . i def. need somehting in between......, so going to a much lighter head was a huge difference. very differnt kind of feel. the answer lies in between for me.. my thoughts are.. if u have a fast swing transition the nthe lighter heads re prob perfect. but i have a very slow kinda swing and i get most power right at the impact zone so light heads kinda loose thier feel. the heavier ones i can feel right thru impact. and then i dont tend to over swing.. same kind of thing with my drivers... the heavier head slightyl lighter shaft x flex in monacco is PERFECT and the shaft weight of about 128 gram seems perfect. in heads like the perosnals.. the tourtage 701s... yamaha tours...that size head. the lighter heads makes me come thru the ball quicker.which for my tempo isnt ideal. the slightly heavier heads, i have more success with... the combo of the monacco and the tourstage heads is a winner winner chicken dinner.... for feel. its just that tiny thing id love .. a wee bit more weight in the head. just bit chunkier like the miura isms and id be a happy camper..! i cud very happily learn to love these irons as they are.. if i didnt have a multitude of irons already, and play them but continually swapping form difernt weighted clubs inst great for my golf. i hit the ball ok, but i was longing continually for something more "substantial" i was longing for my perosnals..................... i know my preferd weightings now and im sticking to them. if anyones has a lighter swing , then if u get slightly heavier shafts in ur irons then ur going to have a field day id think esp if u have a fat transition.. does this make sense?????????????????????????????? oh and hte tourstage heads are tops... gee they look good they feel awsome.if only they were a few grams head heavier!
