Unless you have a very fast swing speed I recommend that you look at a low torque, 65g-75g shaft. The key here is that you should look to minimize spin. Whether you need high or low kick shaft should be determined by your desired ball flight. The J340 will perform excellently regardless, mid-launch and moderate spin. It is an excellent control driver. Distance performance will be maximized based your decision. I have a 652 in mine because of the desired ball flight. An option I'm considering is whether to look for a less torque as well in order to decrease my spin rate a little for improved distance.

I got a 9.5 to allow me to get a stiffer tip shaft and still keep the launch angle up and keep some spin off the ball. I've had a CP-02 in an X-Drive before, but I think the tip might be too active with this head although I LOVED the shaft. I'm thinking of the PM702, W70 or Fuji 671 (which I have now in a 510 TP) I'm curious about the new ZComs, but have no feel for how they play...

lohrm1,

dadriver has alot of playing time with the J340 and that experience should translate into good advice.

I only recently purchased a J340. It came with a Fuji SIX X and I have had excellent results-- considering the light weight and 4.5 degrees of torque.

Ballflight is right where I want it and the shaft doesn't play at all like a 4.5 torque shaft. The other advantage I've found is that I hit it longer than the Cleveland 400T driver that I thought had maxed out my distance.

In the Cleveland I was playing a 80 gram tip stiff shaft. But I like the SIX better. My J340 is D3 at 44.75 inches with the SIX.
