The main difference is the head of the TP sets up square. Besides the shaft and the weight kit. The Retail R7 sets up closed. As far as the shaft. That's up to you and your fitter. xxio
Strangely enough when you buy a TOUR TP you actually get less weights than the RETAIL TP. I guess the pros set the weights they like and return the rest to the tour van.

I think in general, the TP and Tour versions sit square to open unless set otherwise. The R7 retail non TP in general sits closed.
sonartec_guy
sorry if i was unclear. i do that alot is there anyreal diffreence in heads besides the serial number between thhe RETAIL TP and the TOUR TP (Txxxx)
tickyboy
Some swear there is (another board's owner) but most say no with the r7's. BTW, there are a TON being sold now, they might not be the club some made it out to be. Definitely a low spin driver, I personally liked, but went back to a r510 TP
jick
sorry if i was unclear. i do that alotis there anyreal diffreence in heads besides the serial number between thhe RETAIL TP and the TOUR TP (Txxxx) Other than the serial number, I'd like to highlight what xxio said. The Tour TP also doesn't come with the 8 extra weights. Also, having a Tour TP is great with the chicks. You can tell them you have a tour only serial number, you will get ooohs and ahhhs and you will gain more confidence. In the end, it will actually improve your driving and you game. Jovi Jovi, Don't forget you also get to post how much Tour is better than Retail......Oops I have a R580XD Tour currently in play. What do I do now????
Willy
I understand that the other main difference between the tour and the retail model, is that the tour is hand selected for one specific measure, and that is the cor must be as close to, if not, right on the .83 tolerance allowed by the USGA/R&A. And to include a little thread jack, Jick and xxio are trying to rationalize buying new toys which they hadn't planned on getting. Suffice it to say that xxio with his 580xd tour and Jick with his retail r7 tp (both purchased for a song) have had no luck in the 'babe' magnet department, because one club lacks the facet of the other. Xxio has the cachet of yesteryear, and Jick has the newbie, but retail. However, If either of them offers me their toy, I will take the bait. Hahah. Hey.....I was planning to buy a driver remember I reserved 510TP 661 ($280) in X flex that the store couldn't find in their warehouse  but it worked out ok I found a 580XD tour/YS 6 in 9/10 for $100 less :smile1: . Still waiting for the shaft. Stop buying stuff in the US, hurry back so you can send me my shaft!!!! You are just jealous a sleeve of Nike One Black says you bought something "Tour" or "TP" in your 1 week visit to the US.

TTLam
Anyone ever figure out why the Tour TPs came with regular R7 headcovers and not the TP headcover? That's my biggest complaint.... and plus I had to get the weights separate. Shouldn't I get more if I pay more?
plus1
ok guys i have tried both the tp and i own the tour T serial num with B above....in my opinion there is a diference, small but its still a difference. i thought that the tour had a harder face and that when you go for a big one the feel of the face is like no other. my one doesnt ting at all unlike my friends tp version. they are the only small differences i noticed. i got my own of the european tour van when it was at the belfry last month, and the guys were sayin that the tour head was actually 410cc not 400, now i personally cant notice any difference in the head size when setting them side by side, who knows maybe its bull**** :surprize:
ihatebeinglefty
I got my TP tour with a fuji 869 speeder by request. its heavy but you might like it. Also the TP tour heads seem to have weird weights with them. I got some 5 gram weights for instance.
