Godfather1
I am looking to get either a set of mp-27, gauge combo, or moz combo if possible. I wanted to know if anyone can give me thier view on any of these irons, and compare if possible. I also wanted to know if they have a site? Here is the MOZ site: http://www.ishiharagolf.gr.jp/ Let me know what you need, MOZ's take 3-4 weeks. Personally I don't suggest combo sets, a #2 #3 Only but 4 -PW need to be the same for me. Even if ordered with custom lofts, lie, Swing weights there will still be some odd distance gaps and not much consistency gained.
jeffy
I agree with TourSpecGolfer; bag the combo idea. I have a proto set of tour blades made by Ishihara for Scratch (it's the unstamped set of Tour Blades pictured on the Scratch site) that were ground, polished and finished in Japan by Ishihara: they are essentially a set of "Moz" irons. They are surprisingly easy to hit and I no longer have any interest in CB's (though my index is 11). Worst case, you might dump the 3 iron for a 7 wood, a hybrid or driving iron, but if you are going to get a set of Moz, get the blades! Mr. Ishihara is not doing the grinding on these himself, he is using his two aids, as I am told by golf ya. The finish on the Scratch OTR's have the same translucent finish as some of the MOZ wedges. Godfather1
Well I have a set of scratch cb's on the way so are you saying that moz, and scratch are basically the same except for the design? If so how do they compare or contrast?

If so how do they compare or contrast? This is just my Opinion but the Custom Wedges/Irons hand made in the U.S by Scratch Golf still have many grind quality issues. The Scratch OTR ( Off the Rack ) Wedges are Hand done by Mr. Ishihara's two assistants, The grind quality is good and they are finished beautifully using the same plater as MOZ. When you look at an MOZ wedge the grind work is always flawless even to the most critical eye. Mr. Ishihara does all of the MOZ on his own. His work is famous in Japan. Godfather1 who is finishing and grinding your set?
Godfather1
Well I ordered them in June so I hope Mr. Ishihara is forging, plating, and grinding it himself, otherwise its a bit long.

Mr. Ishihara takes only 3-5 weeks to finish a set of MOZ Irons. Am I hearing you correctly? June? Scratch is supposed to be 2-6 weeks :-D
Godfather1
Well I'm stumped :-D
FairwayFred
Well I'm stumped :-D The delay was in the fact that the specs on your order were changed MANY times. We just finalized them for sure a few weeks ago. In the end you decided to go with Nippons which take a heck of a long time to get sometimes and are much lighter weight than the TFRs that we had originally used so the clubs had to be completely redone. You should have them soon!
Godfather1
I only switched to nippon at the end of september. :o
