wmclarenf1
Went on a launch monitor today. Based on my very imperfect and inconsistent swing, these are the following results: 1. Driver TaylorMade R510TP Tour 9.5* with a Fuji Speeder 569 Tourspec Regular tipped 1 inch and playing at 44.5 D2 swingweight. 2. Ball : TourStage UX Arrow SPin which is equivalent to the Precept U-Tri Tour 3. Avg Ball speed : 150 mph 4. Avg Ball back spin rate : 3900 rpm 5. Avg launch angle : 12* 6. Avg carry in yards : 225 I was told that based on this particular system (didn;t get the name of the launch monitor), I should be averaging 13-14* launch angle for the avg ball speed I have and with a ball back spin rate of 3000-3300 rpm. I know launch monitor results are in a controlled environment and are non-conclusive and maybe even not that accurate. I seem to be getting a bot more carry on the actual golf course. Assuming that the results are accurate, how can I get my ball back spin rate down and my launch angle up. Don;t want to change the head. a. Is there a lower spinning higher launching shaft out there? b. Change ball? c. Go up to a 10.5*? Again, I like this head. Can I increase launch abgle slightly via the shaft and teeing higher? Also, what does 150 ball speed translate to in swing speed. Thanks.
jlauber
I can't answer most of your questions, but from my experience, ball speed from an optimum swing speed is about 1.4 mph of ball speed to every 1 of swing speed. Based on that, your swing speed is around 105-110 mph.

Also, that's about right if you aren't really optimized yet. That's carry so that would work with that estimated SS. If you want to change your launch angle 2* then you need to change your head loft. There are shafts and ball can help you definitely but your session were incomplete without a swing speed. 10* or 14* are all depending on your swing speed also. Plus, All the choices of heads, loft, shafts etc...,weather and condition of golf courses are come in consideration also.Cheers! wmclarenf1
Thanks all. I don;t know why he didn;t tell me swing speed, just ball speed. I look at the monitor and couldn't seem to find it as well. I have a Fuji Six lying around in stiff flex and untipped. WIll this help in lowering ball back spin cause I read it;s a low spin shaft? It's also high kick so will that lower my launch angle even more although I do read the SIX actually launches quite high. Thanks.
