Is the TaylorMade 757 Speeder a real 757 Speeder? The shaft plays softer to me than the real 757 Speeder. I was told that this was down to the hosel of the R510 TP head but that does not seem right to me. Is the TaylorMade version a modification of the real deal? Thanks

TM is fairly well known for not tipping the shafts they install, my guess is that the stick you have is untipped and whatever you tried before was tipped perhaps to the point of playing stouter then marked. I.E.: a stiff tipped enough to make it nearly an X.

One of the club guys like Joey can probably answer this best.

It's the real deal. Positive.

TM does not tipp the 757 plus insertion depth is only 1.5" instead of 1.75" or more. Which of course adds to the problem of not feeling like a true 757.

I just had my retail r7 reshafted with a stiff 757 pulled from a 510 TP. The stock shaft was playing at 255cpm at 45" and I was worried that the 757 may be too stout. It turns out that the 757 plays to 255cpm at 45" also. My stock r7 had a D5 swingweight and with the 757 it is now a D5.5. I haven't hit it yet, but I'm getting excited.

Except for the added weight of the ion plating......

Do you guys think that the ion plating which is supposedly 7-8grams makes a difference? The Fit On Six would now be a 60+ gram shaft?
