joey3108
Imagine that I was testing the tour concept shaft on a cast PING I3 blade w/ all the goody in it ( blueprinted w/ dowel treatment ). Comparing it w/ DG shaft on a TM combo and TN87. Tour concept definitely at least 1/4 flex softer on the chart and progressively higher ball flight on the longer iron. What surprise me out of this quite practise time is that the sound at impact out of this shaft is much softer. The shaft are very smooth feel but yet produce enough tight shot's pattern comparable to DG. I will put a set of this shaft to replace my TM combo for sure. :) So After that practise, I was convinced that this shaft will be one of my stocks line up. This morning, I called the rep and discuss a few thing to help me out to fill up the pre ordered first and stocking set after. So! Let me know as soon as possible if any of you interested in this shaft and call me if you have any questions. Hope I put a fair review. For you guys who played them, please don't hesitate to give us more review for the Curious George. :smile1: Again Dec 8 is the shipping date. Thanks! hornyjuan
So what do they play like Joe? TFR without the ballooning? Similiar to the NSPRO?
joey3108
So what do they play like Joe? TFR without the ballooning? Similiar to the NSPRO? Feel and sound wise is nothing like it out there IMO. Ball flight definitely no balooning w/ my type of swing. What amaze me is that it's in a cast club, It should be better on a forged club. Guest drhughman
Hi Joe, Thanks for the info. I just bought a set of 10 (3-PW, SW, LW) Z101's from nobogey with TC S3's in them. I had one chance to hit them in 45 degree weather up here in "Canader eh" before the snow, with poor range balls. So a poor test indeed. The ball I think came of the face harder than my Macgregor 1025M with PX 6.5 which were too tight for me anyway. Not what I would have called a buttery feeling. Not harsh just not smooth. So my question if it is even fair to hazard a guess is that shaft, head or weather only? Secondly, I don't know what the wooden dowel treatment is other than my guess is putting wooden dowels in the shaft tip to soften feel at impact. Would that be a good guess? If so, would the cost be prohibitive sending clubs from Canada, having you do your magic and shipped back? Is there any way to teach someone the process if the cost is high? Appreciate info. Thanks. KLI
I'm hitting X1 Tour Concepts in Z101s and would call the impact feel crisp. I feel most of the kick closer to the tip than with DG X100s. I'm hitting my TCs much straighter, with a much more consistent trajectory than DG X100s. Also, I'm 5-10 yards longer with each iron. Can't beat longer AND straighter-great shafts!

James IMO! When the weather at 50 or below almost all shaft feel harsh and stiffer, especially on a thin shot.Wooden Dowel are basically to dampen the vibration and sound to give a better softer more solid feed back. I would love to work on your club , just let me know or call me if you need to discuss it before you make any decision. Selling shaft only is impossible, cuz my contract w/ TT will be on the line if i do that. THX! Joe  [email protected]
