t_crane78
I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about what clubs some pros are going to be using in 2005? I know there were some post on here indicating the some big name players were going to Nike, so just interested in hearing what some pros will be using this season. So if Freddie is going to Bridgestone, is he still going to use TaylorMade clubs? Is Leonard, Casey, and Choi and full switch to Nike clubs? And if Im guessing correctly, if Hank K is going to Ben Hogan, does that mean he will be playing any Callaway clubs, since they own Ben Hogan, or will he still use any TaylorMade clubs? pa55
There was an article on Golfweek's website talking about Bridgestone. They're going to have Appleby, Price and Couples using their stuff next year. Clubs and balls.
DoubleAA
What happend to all the TMade users? Why the revolt?
Breal
Couples is going to be all Bridgestone, HK will be all hogan maybe except the woods still working on it. And with TM is a good product, but you have to remember they paid 80% of the players to play there stuff, for marketing. And now there paid contracts are up so they are switching. We will see what happens.
sigmamason
It is rumored that Mark O'Meara will be on Nike in 2005 also...probably in the role of player/club consultant. It will give Nike another country club type... EDIT: It is now more like that Justin Leonard was the original country club type moving over to Nike as was rumored for the last few months. Still no word on whether Mark O'Meara is moving over to Nike or if was just a rumor, sorry for the confusion...

t_crane78
mark o'meara to nikethomas bjorn to callaway Interesting that Thomas Bjorn is going to Callaway since he is considered as a "PGA Tour M.A.C. Professional Partner", meaning is is an actual partner in the Burrows Golf company. But, maybe he will still us there driver, since I believe that is the only club on theirs that he uses and the rest of his bag will be Callaway. Kind of surprise about O'Meara, but since Tiger Woods is his best friend and is with Nike, it doesn't really surprise me as much.

MGB
There was an article on Golfweek's website talking about Bridgestone. They're going to have Appleby, Price and Couples using their stuff next year. Clubs and balls. Price played the Precept ball when he was having those monster seasons. Appleby's been w Bridgestone for years. Freddie's the new kid on the Bridgestone block. MGB
What happend to all the TMade users? Why the revolt? Not a revolt. I think (this is just my 2 cents) that the consistent losses on TM's balance sheet last year forced them to cut a lot of their contract pros loose. That data was in all the golf business epages. Not surprised they lost money with the way they were coming out with new product flooding the market and driving prices down. Callaway won't come out and say it, but they blame TM for their losses too. I think Nike has the most to gain from the strife. Titleist didn't get caught up in the hoopla so although they may have lost marketshare, with enough relevant product, they're poised to make a move.
