DUBBED's Turn UPDATE - My 2006 setup!!

Okay, so I finally got my set put together for 06' and let me say I am fantastically pleased with the results. My goal in building this set was to build a very functional set for as cheap as I possibly could, and I think I did exactly that. I play a lot of tournaments and really just need a set that I can perform and be consistent with. In all I've probably spent around $1200-1300 CDN on this set, which by todays standards is incredibly cheap considering the price of even a good driver shaft these days.

I was able to get every single club to come out at the same swingweight. I don't have grips on them yet but as for now a they are all right on E-7, not one club is off that number. As soon as I get the grips on they should all be right at D-6, which is exactly the number I was aiming for.

Putter - I'm waiting for my Newport Mil-spec to be refinished at Putterplating, but I will post pics as soon as I get it back. I'm going to try one of those 220g True Temper putter shafts in it just for giggles.

Bag - Original PING Hoofer white/black (I think I'll replace this next, I've put way to many seasons on this guy)

And there you have it, my set for under $1500 CDN. Being a college student sucks, one day I'll buy all the crazy import stuff. For now this is all I need, I think it's going to work out quite well for me this year.

Please excuse the quality of pics. I play golf, I don't take pictures. :tsg_smilie_whistle:

A place called Simply Golf here in Calgary. They have an actual Scotty Cameron putter bender that gives me goosebumps everytime I go in there. :smile2:

All the simple stuff like installing shafts and grips I do myself in my basement.

What made you attend Mt. Royal?

I live in Calgary. I have more opportunity to play here than in the states anyway. Everyone I know who went south on a scholarship has yet to play a competitive round. I've already played 18, and will play 6 more. The competition may not be as high but all I'm really in it for is experience. :smile1:
