mossy
Anybody know the story on the taylor rac black mb's. Are they for real, tour issued , counterfit, or just refinished. I've seen a few sets go on ebay for big dollars. I like them but just want to know before pulling the trigger if they are true tour items or something else. Sgt_Slaughter
hopefully someone can verify, but i believe the only difference is the black finish.
slicktry
They are tour only. Very rare and hard to find. Never seen any counterfeit ones myself, but Iam sure they exist somwhere. God Bless Jer P.S. Get a set of Ta1 GM's
plus1
yeah supposedly there was only 25 sets actually produced by taylormade, and they are meant to be a miura fdorging, however these do not have the 'FORGED' stamp on the hosel like all other miura forged tms, these have these same stamp as the retail model ie 'coin forged' which leads me to believe that there will be a few conterfeits floating around. so be carefull!

Can this difference be seen, such as the leading edge, sole, other than the black versus the non black difference. Or is this substantiated with a letter of authenticity by someone at TM. :-)
golfer
I've owned two sets of these irons and they are very solid and good looking. The only advice I can offer is be careful if the lie does not meet your specs. They are very difficult to bend. The black finish makes them brittle, and if bent too much they will break more easily than the stainless model. Anybody know the story on the taylor rac black mb's. The people that get their hands on them first will always tell you they are extremely rare to increase the value. I'm not saying I know the facts on these irons, but just stating an observations. Couldn't agree more...With all the TM controversy going on right now I'd be VERY careful about where you get some of the "rare" stuff. I'm sure the TM made some sets of black MB's, but not nearly the number that are drifting around out there now. Just know the history and your seller and you're probably OK. Or keep the S59's in the bag. Still one of the best, if not THE best irons out there. (And I used to have a set of tour MB's at one point.) robbie
that miura rep can kiss my ass......i know there isnt a single set of black rac mbs out there with "forged" on the hosel....they are all coin forged and all have mill marks on the face !!!! as for the 25 sets....there sure seems to be closer to a hundred, but im just guessing...ive owned 3 sets of black rac mbs and about 6 sets of satn rac mbs and 11 sets of lehman 300s and etc.... (since when did we trust the reps for any useful information !!!!!!) i definitely enjoyed the satin mbs the most and the 300 ns next followed by 300 lehman's.....the black racs were my least favorite ....felt harsh compared to the other TM tour offerings ( satin mbs were very soft....300s are solid thumpers ! ) oh and im tryying to buy a set of black rac mbs tonite ( really...thats why i gotta sell the R7!!!!!!!!) mossy
A buddy of mine just showed me a set of TM Rac Black,(tour issue?) that he got from BSG. He's got them shafted w/ project x 6.O's and they look sweet/real deal. He belived them to be legit but the chatter on this site has me concerned for him that they may be fake. Any hard info that BSG's black racs are no good or just rumor/inuendo
MrParr1noid
Any hard info that BSG's black racs are no good or just rumor/inuendo mossy This is the question you should be posing over at bs'g, ask that question over there, they are the ones who've sold these supposed black tours. We don't believe bs'g over here, we are the ones who've asked similar questions on bs'g and were removed. Go ask Ditto if these are real, see what he tells you. :-) p. s. Chances are that 6 or 8 of his DittoHeads will shout you down before you receive any answers.
