mperry123
My question is there any difference between the R7 TP with a speeder 757 and a regular R7 (non TP) with the speeder 757 upgrade. I am guessing that you get fewer weights but is that it. It looks like the regular R7 with the 757 is a couple hundred less. Wondering what the difference is if any. Thanks
teampowers
No extra weights and a .350 hosel on the non tp. I bought a non tp off of ebay and then bouoght the weight kit. Saved a ton of cash!
mperry123
Thanks- That is what I was planning on doing - Just making sure.
haribo
TP has square to slightly open face while r7 is square to slightly closed. Other differences are as already stated, .350" hosel and no additional weight kit and no tm coloured speeder 757. Otherwise no differences. haribo
bladeceo
add one more. Accoriding to the head of the Metal woods division the R7 uses Beta Ti and the TP uses SP-700 in the face.

Wow, I never heard that before. That is interesting. Thanks for the info.
mperry123
hadn't heard that either - explains the difference in price. Thanks for the info.
997777
I think the difference in price is more attributed to the additional weights and more expensive shaft.
haribo
The different metal story is BS. Both heads get produced in the same plant. haribo
haribo
hadn't heard that either - explains the difference in price. Â Thanks for the info. I don't know about the States but here in Canada there is about a CDN$ 300 difference between the R7 and the R7TP. Consider the additional weight kit and the Fuji Speeder and you know why. haribo
997777
Same difference in the US, about $300 retail. I agree with the previous post, I heard the metal was the same.
yumanike
I also believe the TP has a higher CG to produce less spin.
hornyjuan
AH YES....The never ending R7 vs R7TP debate. Only after personally hitting both can you tell the difference and even if someone did, their opinion would still be subjective. I've hit both (fortunate enough to know people that own golf shops) and was even able to take them out to the course. IMO the TP felt better for some reason...whether you think I was smoking a little too much of the angel dust is fully within your rights but that's just my opinion. But you will never solve this debate unless you try both!! It's just like the infamous R7TP vs R7 Tour debate. You get people that swear the tour feels different and you have people that say they are exactly the same. And if that's not good enough then your just going to have to take people's words for it that the R7=R7TP=R7 Tour (By the reasoning going on in this thread, an R7 with any shaft is essentially an R7 Tour then??) uuugh?!?! :surprize:
haribo
Hornyjuan, The entire R7-R7TP-R7TP Tour debate .... you know what ... I couldn't care less. Don't give me the "You gotta try for yourself or you won't belief the difference" crap ... I tried all three of them, went with the retail R7 (oh my god, hope nobody is going to faint now), got some additional weights and put an accra sc75 in it. Guess what, i couldn't be happier. haribo

I've read hundreds of peoples' posts attesting that the r7 and r7tp ARE different. There are also people that say there is no difference at all...but from most of the r7 vs r7tp post I have followed...the majority seem to believe there is a difference. Why don't we ask the people that have played both to chime in. Why don't we ask those that have played both what they think before you go about saying they are full of :poop: Demo, Joey, Chris, Richard?? I know you've all played both. And the whole "you gotta try for yourself or you won't believe the difference" CRAP is TRUE. How can a person possibly know anything about a club if they've never hit it?????? That's like me saying the TOURSTAGE VIQ irons (releasal March) are the softest, most forgiving irons ever. Notice that the only way someone will know is to TRY. That's the beauty of this club, you can create the feel you like. haribo

bladeceo
The different metal story is BS. Both heads get produced in the same plant.haribo I was personally told the r7 was Beta ad the TP was SP-700 by the Director of TM Metalswood division about 2 months ago. I dont care either way but I'm guessing he would know. BTW a differing Ti metal would not require any different tooling or facilty either

But let's be frank for a moment ... even if you're right ... who cares? .... what does it matter????? Are you gonna score better because of that? So, why don't we agree to disagree. haribo
bladeceo
So, why don't we agree to disagree. haribo I have no problem agreeing to disagree. But then I also did not call you statement BS. as you did mine. That's the only reason I repsonded.
