Taylor Made 200 Tour Smooth vs. Ridge

Featured Replies

What is the difference? Which one has a deeper face? I am looking for a 15* in whichever model has the deeper face if anyone has one for sale.

The ridgies have a higher COG and so the ball goes lower. The smoothies will get the ball up and seem to be more forgiving.

Yup...

If your a gamer you'll want the ridgie as most pga tour players use the ridgie because of the desired ball flight and workability.

If you need a little more forgiveness (i.e. lower cog, easier to get up a la viagra) then go with the eagle.

Of course the biggest difference is pricing as the eagle is probably double the price of a ridgie.

i have a both smoothie and ridgie, smoothie is defiantly more forgiving and and gets the ball up quick.i think the smoothie does have a better look and feel though.

Now what is this one and how does it compare to a ridgie or smothie?

the duffy is a ridgie, but is called the duffy b/c the weighting in it is different.there is more weight on the heel to keep from hooking the ball.i had one once but i pushed to the right to much.

Don't you mean extra weight in the toe to encourage a fade? :o

It seems like someone in the B/S/T is looking for a smoothie Duffy. I wonder if the "D" is etched by the same guy that put the "T" on his irons.

yea sorry its been awhile since i had it, i couldnt remember which one it was.but it is in the toe to encourage a fade
