+TourSpecGolfer
I put these in the top 5 of best Irons at the show. They remind me of a much better feeling more players version of the Pro Combos, the diamond looking cavity fill is different on the long irons than the short. As I said over a year ago these irons are sweet, with this new model out and having been able to hit them, its the same deal this year. jboy
Can't find any info on 15-5-3 Ti on the web 15% molybdenum or Vanadium , Grade 31 said at thinner gauges 15-3 was cheaper than 6-4. Wonder why they're using this alloy???
+TourSpecGolfer
Can't find any info on 15-5-3 Ti on the web15% molybdenum or Vanadium , Grade 31 said at thinner gauges 15-3 was cheaper than 6-4. Wonder why they're using this alloy??? IMO it has nothing to do with price really, I would say more with performance, feel and rebound off the face. There is also grades of this in different countries and manufactures at different prices and mineral make ups, If we judge the metal from a non golf stand point and base things on cost SS303 and SM490A would be considered cheap materials that they use to make buildings etc with. In the case with this driver its body is made of 15-5-3 and the face is some kinda beta Ti. All companies try to make a basic metal sound like super alloy
jboy
Alpha Reaction use something similar 15-3-3-3, a face metal.... not sure if shortages in certain alloys means we see these strange numbers on our clubs  Yamaha are fairly cutting edge techno wise... now if it was T.M I'd have my doubts about pixie dust marketing. :surprize:
