PxExG
I am thinking about getting a new set of irons. I love my current ones from the fairway but am finding it real tough to hit out of the rough. I am not looking for miracle clubs & I actually dont look for a huge amount of forgiveness in the general sense. Moreso a "bulkier" head that I can hit from light rough. Perhaps it is a swing thing, I come in to the ball quite shallow but I think that a CB could help... Anyways, to add a bit of direction to this post - I am looking for a CB/Combo set with: Thin Topline Very Low Offset Rounded Toe A reasonably large cavity (muscle cavity ala TP 2005?) Confidence inspiring at address The clubs that have caught my eye are the J33 Combos & the RAC TP 2005s & also the Scratch 2005 AR-1s. Any opinions out there? golfernut78
i think the nike pro combo tour would be a good club for what your looking for, maybe the os too if you want something bigger.
nearfall152
I'm not too sure about the scratch's, but I don't think the tm cb's are any easier to hit from the rough than your nike's. My money would be with the J33's of the three, they're a bit different animal.
nearfall152
P.S. I can't believe you're moving on from the nike's after the glowing review...the two of you seemed so happy together :smile2:
MGB
Perhaps you should be looking for a more forgiving driver. To keep you out of the rough in the first place? Seriously, of the irons you're considering, Scratch sound like the ticket. Especially since we know you love your wedges. I think any custom set would be the bomb. If you like the Bridgestones, you might as well get the X-Blade CBs. Why not a custom 2 or 3-tier custom set of Mizunos? plus1
if u love your wedges patrick then ya got to be loyal and go scratch......they look very tidy, feel great and play very forgiving

I just got rid of a set of J33 combos because I hit the Z101 better. Also, the ballflight was a little on the high side. Also consider that Titleist is coming out with the 735.cm soon. I am going to look heavily at that set.
Godfather1
I would go with the scratch, although I may be a bit biased I have last years cbs, and I have the new AR-1 on order. I really like the feel of scratch irons.

TTLam
... The clubs that have caught my eye are the J33 Combos & the RAC TP 2005s & also the Scratch 2005 AR-1s. Any opinions out there? You just picked out my favorite sets for 2005! They're all sweet I think. Very hard to decide. Although, cosmetically I think the Scratch look very simple and elegant. RAC TP looks Hi-Tech and the J33s look like Tourstage knockoffs! All great clubs though.
