Posted April 20, 200519 yr comment_91663 ok guys i have seen two TOUR 905 S club that 100% came from the tour van and neither had serial numbers..... however when i went into our local golf shop i was amazed to find that the retails had no serials also??? i was very confused after this....anyone know the score?

The Tour clubs are the same as the retail. Titleist has always been like that. They are just tweaked by a fitter for the individual pro that they are for. Lie, loft, etc.. On many brands there aren't any serial numbers at all, especially many clubs sold in Canada.

April 20, 200519 yr comment_91691 Hi, I have a 905T that I got from a nationwide player at the Jacobs Creek Open and I have played it against a retail 905T and whilst there are no cosmetic differences, the sound/feel/spin is significantly different. Unfortunately as there are no cosmetic differences, it will be hard to fork out extra$$$$ for a tour 905 club unless you trust your source. Cheers Jamie

April 20, 200519 yr comment_91696 I work with both, no difference, T issue hand picked for spec. Jamie, When you did your testing, I'm sure you would find the drivers had different spec, ie loft, face angle or maybe head weight{CG change}. Different shaft? shaft length, etc, etc. That would explain spin differences. It's true, they are the same head tweaked. Kind regards, Chris
April 20, 200519 yr Author comment_91697 yeah that is meant to be true...ie if the player wants it to be 44.5 inch and play to a specific swing weight thay will tweak it to his specs! but IS THE FEEL DIFFERENT? personally i think the difference in the r7 tps tour and retail are night and day...........can anyone clarfy if it is the same with tity
April 20, 200519 yr comment_91699 Different with Titty and the 905's. Taylor Made are a whole other beast. Any feel difference could be attributed to the way it has been built by the clubmaker/tour tech.

That's exactly what I am saying. I am also saying that about the newer TM R7 TP's too. The R300 and 500 Series TM's did have some differences but those days are long gone. Don't let anyone BS you either.
April 21, 200519 yr comment_91737 I am not saying that the retail is not as good as the tour - quite the opposite - they are basically the same but the tour is just tweaked (selected for pros from the many heads built by Titty) - I like a solid, muted kinda sound and feel and a head that sits square to 0.5 degrees open- the tour head gives me that. Performance wise well they are basically the same. Is the extra $$$$$ of a tour worth it - I would say hell no!! If you are talking 350 vs 1000 then I would say take the retail and use the change for other golf purchases. Taylor made retail vs tour well thats a completely different story all together.
April 21, 200519 yr comment_91747 Cmon guys. All Titlesit clubs have had their serial numbers buffed out to protect the players identities. Haven;t you already learnt this from elsewhere? :finger: Oh, and they all have higher grade titanium/uranium/plutonium and what have you other metal :surprize:
April 21, 200519 yr comment_91761 my k has a sn on the hosel. but when i went to the local course i was snooping around the demo 905's and none of them has a sn. NONE. most of those tour issue ones going around on ebay were just demos. regripped. or test samples.

Just buy a retail and send it in to master Joe Kwok = no difference and then you'd save a load of :money: Plus then you can get it speced out to what you want. It is entirely possible that you could buy a tour issue and it will be a load of crap because it was set up for a tour player that has a very different swing than you.
