Can anyone please offer some feedback on the Gauge GAF1 3 wood? How does it perform compared to other woods that are out now? What would you recommend if it's not a top performer?

I have the 14* GAF 1. The head is a little bigger than most Sonartecs but ball flight wise gives a strong ball flight like a Sonartec. I tested it against my Sonartec 14* SS3.5 and there is not much in it . The Sonartec had a smaller head. You can't go wrong with the GAF it has to be up there with the best.

I have the 4 & 7 woods. No need for a 3 wood. The 4 wood is as long as my 3 woods. The ball flight is penetrating on the 4. Heads are the same size as most fws on the market. The 7 is the $$$ club. You just can't miss, thus forgiving.

I stubbled across these since Chris wrote about them. I had the Gauge irons and still play the Edlik putter. The only club that hasn't left my bag for a year is the putter; now the FW are here to stay.

I have the 16* and 20* GAF1's shafted with the Fuji 27.3 stiff; I also have (and play) Royal Collection BBD CV Super SS Pro 16* and 19* with the identical shaft (Joe Kwok did the work on both). I have only hit the Gauge at the range but, IMO, the clubs play very similar. However, I prefer the look of the RC pear shaped head compared to the rounded GAF1. You can also pick up new RC heads for about $65 on eBay versus $225 for a new Gauge head.

The GAF1 has been canceled and discontinued.

A new model called the GAF2 or GU2 will be coming to the market later this year.

For now I play the new C.V pro:

That RC is very sweet looking. I've been looking at the new Sonartec out, but that RC is much cleaner looking.
