rollaman430
 Yeah, Titleist all the way for a couple years now. I play to a 2.5, which seems high for some of the pros on this site. I will adjust to not being one of the better players, if you guys still accept me.

Penguins66
How do you like your 680s? And by the way...Adam Scott is my favorite, Just look at the avatar. If you really want to model your bag after him, he is currently still playing the 983K driver
rollaman430
Yeah, I know he's playing the 983K...but he played the E for a long time, which is what I had before I traded it for the 905S. I was glad to see him finally go to graphite and get some technology in his bag. Anyone know where I can get a 690.CH 2 Iron in DGS S300 like his?...that would be a great find for me, I'd like a little bit of forgiveness on that club...other than that the 680's are without a doubt the best forged blade I have ever hit, and I have hit ALOT of 'um, only thing better might be the 681's. jboy
I play the 670 but I might switch to the 680's... get them Depleted Uranium ported high on the muscle to keep the ball flight down.
rollaman430
I love the trajectory the 680's put on the ball in their current state. I am very picky in cosmetics when in to comes to my clubs, so porting the irons to bring the ball flight down is only really and option for me in my wedges, but I like the way my wedges fly too as is...no complaints thus far. I never cared for the look of the 670's, which is what kept me away from purchasing them...for a mid-low trajectory blade, the muscle seemed too low for me. I like the really high muscle position of the 680's.
cpga
Welcome to TSG and I share in yours and penguin66 sentiment in Adam Scott being the favourite tour pro and there is definitely reason to emulate his swing and fundamentals because week in and week out he's one of the most consistent players in my opinion. My only caution would be to make sure that the equipment that your putting in your bag is the best equipment that's suited to your game, like the craze that hit when Tiger switched to the Nike Driver and Blades, many people switched but their games would of been better had they not made the switch and played equipment fitted for them. The other thing would be the clubs he has in his bag like most pros aren't the same clubs that you'll purchase from your local shop so instead of focusing yourself to what he's playing and what's new in the bag every week, focus on your game and you'll see that 2.5 come down. (It'll also save you money because I assume your not getting free equipment from Titleist :money: )
rollaman430
Yeah, I understand. I don't model my bag after Adam Scott's just because the stuff he has is what I want to have. His opinions on the performance and cosmetics of clubs match mine, and that is why we play similar equipment. Our games are fairly similar in that we both have a very high trajectory ball flight and enjoy a traditional set up. I believe strongly that I have the ability to play each and every piece of equipment I own, optimally, otherwise I wouldnt find such a difficult set of clubs to play. I chose these because of unmatched feel, workability, cosmetics, and trajectory control that they provide IMHO. Also, personal use discounts are a golfer's best friend when you work in the industry.
mat562
I know the feeling. I also tend to use stuff that is played by a certain well-known player. In 1997 I used MP14 irons, with an MP29 2 iron, as I liked the look of the long irons better. I also used a Cobra Deep Face Steelhead driver and Cleveland RTG wedges. Although at the time I used an Anser 2 putter and a Taylor Made Flex Twist 3 wood the rest of the bag was a dead copy (other than the 3 iron) of a certain player.. Can you guess who? I then switched to a Titleist 975D driver, and started messing with Cameron putters - the start of a bit of an obsession.. Vokey wedges eventually replaced the Clevelands as the wedge of choice, and the irons were changed last year to Nike blades... Easy to work it out, eh? Despite ribbing from playing partners, all of my club choices were personal, and based on what I liked and what worked. I wish I could say I was modelling my clubs and game on el Tigre, but sadly not; I need to shoot about 6 strokes a round lower.... I am also fussy with my clubs. I like a clean, unfussy look, and I like clubs that work for me.
cpga
I wasn't implying that it wasn't the equipment best suited to your game, just making sure that it fell into all those categories because as a pro and being a club that's exclusively TM and being one of their Club players I see more and more in fittings someone who wants the R7 TP or the Rac TP's just because it's the Tour edition or Sergio and other staff players are using it when they would be best fit in an R7 Quad HT or R5 Dual. So as long as you have access to the personal use discounts and the equipment suits your eye and it's the optimal equipment for you than that 2.5 will come down all in good time.
