In fitting someone with irons how important is the relationship of lower center of gravity vs. high center of gravity ?

usually the better the player, the higher the COG, because they typically dont have trouble getting the ball up in the air. a lot of people also like the COG lower in the longer irons with lower loft to promote a higher ballflight, and a slightly higer COG in shorter irons which already have a higer loft (i.e. combo iron sets). the thing to consider is that if you add/detract weight to lower a COG you might also change the swingweight of the club. a lot of it is personal preference, and how well they hit their irons and how consistent the ballflight is from one club to the next thru the set.

good luck!

I enjoy low C.O.G clubs with a lower trajectory non ballooning shaft. For me that provides the best results, ball get up quick and top out flat.

Is the Tourstage Z101 a high center of gravity iron ?

And is the Mizuno MP-37 a low center of gravity blade ?
