Does anyone know what finish is used to make the Gauge Design GAS1-SQ wedges black? How long does it last?

And also, how does the GAS1 compare to the GAS1-SQ or the new forged model?

I honestly do not suggest the older model Gauge Japan wedges, the black finish on the old GAS1 was a double baked finish that was very durable for a black but eventually rusted and due to the double bake the forged steel felt as hard as Vokey.

Even the 4th anniversary wedges just recently released performed below my average.

but....

the new GAS1 Forged is soft, made in Japan and had the 5 CNC mill marks, these wedges are so in my bag and I have had everything that is considered very good.

Just recently I changed the paint fill to gold:

That looks freakin' beautiful!!!...Did you do the paintfill by yourself, if so, how did you do it?

I'm interested in blacking out my wedges...I assume I could send these out to black oxice services to get them finished in black?
