zojo
wow, i like this one out of all the r7's that are out. HOw come this one only has 2 weights instead of 4?
+TourSpecGolfer
Guys it seems Taylormade is max'd out with its inverted cone technology, The entire R7/R5 series all has pretty much the same feel and distance. Its all about the different sizes and shapes now. IMO it doesn't get much better than just the plain ol R7. Of course the SP700 Face Japanese TM drivers use are slightly longer due to C.O.R. This R7-XR is pretty much the R5TP with a longer heel to toe and the weighting closer to the face than rear, very forgiving indeed, more than the R5TP coming out IMO. I have tried the XR with the Fuji 553, Fuji Tour spec Rombax, Mamiya Axiv 6060M and the UST Proto in Stiff. 1st place Longest and tightest: Axiv 6060M. 2nd place Straight but a tad short: Tourspec rombax. 3rd place Easy to hit just no improvement over stock distances or dispersion: Fuji 553. 4th Proto was too stout and felt like a stick even untipped in Stiff flex.
