jboy
Is my head too far behind the ball after impact in this shot ???
elnino82
Your head is definitely too far behind the ball. You'll gonna have a serious back pain if you keep swing like that. Ideally your head should be just inside of your right foot after impact.
sly_sam
What are your tendancies? Where does the ball go after that picture? If your not having too many problems with that, you could really have one power packed swing. Your position there looks very similar to the LDA guys. The farther you get behind the ball, with out any revese pivoting going on of course, the more power you can get. It's called getting leverage. Though, many of those guys have a difficult time with accuracy. Check this out, Jason Zuback not too far off. Though i won't say either way that it's right or wrong. I'm not a PGA Professional teacher. If your having problems with your swing, go to someone who can sit down and look at you to see how your doing. A teacher will know what to help you with. Thats my best suggestion. one other suggestion though, try to widen you stance. It'll get you lower to the ball and you might see an improvemwnt without taking that head position away. Your stance seems to be very narrow.
ErichF
Your shirt is untucked. That is the only bad fault I see.
DUBBED
If you draw a line straight up from the ball at address your left ear should be pressed around that line. Then if you draw a box around your head, your head should remain in that box for the duration of your swing. So the anser to your question is yes your head is too far behind the ball. jboy
Thanks, I do hit the ball a long way Sam but do suffer when the timing goes all wrong. I was actually trying to narrow may stance so maybe I should go back to what I was doing  The club in the shot is a Cobra LD Team only head, it's moving so fast you can't see it :smile1: Main tee shot tends to be a slight fade, when I start to turn it right to left it goes miles. I've got a bad right elbow which I believe stops me gettting the wrist timing right through impact. I'll try and get more sequenced shots of my swing and try and get some help from you guys elnino82, I had that every time someone sees me swing since I was a kid, you'll end up in a wheelchair... taking the picture of my swing thru to completion it's the classic bad back reverse C swing, a la Seve, Fred Couples etc... add in a little bit of Zuback, John Daly backswing... it's not looking too good for later in life ! It's a shambles! For posing for photographs or hitting the ball ??? Wondering if the Vjay floppy wrist is in edivence ?? I'll need to get some high speed shots. That will freeze you posture better.
kshimoka
You need a tan?? :wah: I kid I kid. Maybe you are falling back a little to much, head is behind a little much too, but hey if you are hitting it good who cares. If it aint broke dont fix it. Fuji made a camera that took like 8 pics at once, I think it was specifically made for golfers too. Anyways it was a disposable one, maybe Tourspecgolfer might know more about it. I have a couple of shots of my swing from a while back with that camera. Maybe I'll post them if anyone could tell me how, and no one promises to laugh. jeffy
Take a look at the Redgoat Swing Fundamentals section on Brady Riggs site: http://redgoat.smugmug.com/Redgoat%20Swing...%20Fundamentals, particularly the Tush Line section: http://redgoat.smugmug.com/gallery/102550. Some of his commentary might help you - you're picture looks like one of his "don't do this" examples: http://redgoat.smugmug.com/gallery/102550/1/4116476. The site also has a ton of swing sequences and videos of tour pros as well as his students (including before and after comparisons).
