Posted July 13, 200519 yr comment_99031 I just got a crazy urge to pick up a red x. I have never rolled one, but I feel like changing it up a bit. Can anyone talk me off the ledge?
July 13, 200519 yr comment_99046 I liked it right away when it came out and bought one on the spot. I think that was the one and only design that was missing in the Cameron line up. I wanted to like the Futura, but could not get any feel for distance. Short putts were ok, long putts were a desaster. My old Newport Milspec still has the best feel of all putters I tried, but I wanted to get one with more "alignment help" for short and medium putts. Now combine the Futura and the Milspec and you have the Red X. I got the heaviest head (350) and extended the shaft to 34 inches. It has now a great balance, and the additional weight helps to swing really smooth. I play the heel shafted red X because I get more feedback if the sweetspot is "floating" and not right in front of the shaft. Great putter, the GSS insert is really soft and produces a solid sound - which is also important to me and probably another main reason why I canĀ“t use the Futura. Hope that helps.

Just got mine back from the Custom Shop (will try to post pics when I get time) and in my first tournament round with added weight (up to 360 grams from 350) I rolled in 6 birdie putts, most of them in the 12-18 foot range. I love the GSS insert.
