Phillip Alexander
Well guys here we go. I am a dedicated Mizuno man, however Jedi & Plus 1 place the NC1s above all others. Jedi owns the site and as far as I'm concerned he is very unbiased, to the point of being complimentary about one model from a manufacturer and less than complimentary about another model. Plus 1 wins Ho of the year, but he also is very subjective and loves to talk about features and benefits of various brands and models. I've played Mizuno irons since 1992, and have been nothing less than impressed the whole time. Of course there has been some less than impressive swings, but hey that ain't the clubs fault. On the basis that the NC1s are the ants pants, why are they the ants pants? Please feel free to provide as much information as possible. As for Plus 1s hand made studio NC1s, the sooner these are posted in the WITB the better! Guys also interested in the lofts of the various NC1 irons. My mizzys have very specific lofts. You have really hooked me in on these. Look forward to the responses

plus1
what is so good about the nc1s..... too many things, i love the way they look for a starters....IMO they are the prettiest irons ive own, inc in those... the mr23 us spec! from address these sit neat behind the ball, with the perfect size topline.....not thin but in no way thick! the shape of the toe suits my eye also and really does inspire confidence ! in terms of feel i can say that these are awesome....when struck pure they are sweet as sugar....not better than others just different....what i mean is that the feel is light and soft on your hands......however when struck off centre these are not harsh at all, they give plenty of feedback but will not send shivers or vibrations up your hands and arms!!!!! in terms of forgiveness and playability...these are class..much much easier than for example the miura 201s, with no loss of control in terms of working the ball therfore you dont sacrifice one! having said this when i had the mp32s IMO i thought were a very forgiving club also!!!!! my handmades lofts are 1 degree stronger than the machine mades and the mb2s....... for me the set up of these irons is perfect! as far as the mizunos go, i would have to say the 32s are an excellent club and they can definately be bought at good prices! in terms of feel i would have to say they are slightly harder than the gauge, but by no means hard! playability and forgiveness with these is excellent...i found they were as forgiving as any cavity yet had all the workability aspects of a true mizuno blade! hope this helps
Phillip Alexander
 As usual Plus 1 a good report. I take it the hand mades can be customised loft wise?
plus1
phil the handmades are real soft so you could bend them which ever way you wanted....ps i just checked the gauge website and the machine mades work off a 20* 3 iron which is identical to mine...i was mistaken about 1 degree stronger!
landshark
they say these are available i n a satin finish. does the finish look sim. to the taylor made tp satin finish, or is it a bit duller?
mrzodia
Alright, i previously had the mp-32's and now have gd nc-1's. I will say that i loved my mp-32's. the shape sive and weight seemed perfect. No doubt an awesome club. They weren't the easiest to hit, nor very hard either. I especially loved how easy it was to work the ball. Now when looking into purchasing the NC-1's i was very skeptical about stepping back to a CB. After all, you can't beat the sleekness of the cut muscle. Well went with the NC-1's w/ N.S. PRO 1150s. This combo was awesome. For a CB the NC-1 wasn't at all a step down. It has a great shape and exceptional feel. It was very easy to hit, and working the ball was also no problem. I gained distance, but i think this is due to the shaft. Only thing i really regret is the topline. It's a little to thick for me only on the short irons. But on the long irons, it doesn't look thick at all and gives you more confidence. Hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions.
plus1
they say these are available i n a satin finish. does the finish look sim. to the taylor made tp satin finish, or is it a bit duller? technically they do come in two finishes....... 1. the darker machine made finish 2. the lighter handmade finish but i do not beleive you can order a set of machine mades with the lighter satin!
+TourSpecGolfer
Good reviews gents! I wish more people had the chance to hit the NC-1's and even the old Muscle backs for that matter. We would have a cult of gauge players here. It is to bad they are so difficult to get. Being that the MP32's are a blade I would compare them against the MB2's instead of the NC-1. The MB2 is a cavity back but will setup like a true blade. The top line is thinner than the NC's and the offset less, even though there is not much offset of the NC's to start with. I don't have my MB2s shafted yet so I don't know but I do have absolute faith in gauge irons since the creation of the 2003 CB, even those kicked major butt. I too have had MP32's in custom grind and normal retail. I liked both versions, I consider the 32's easy to hit when compared to other domestic blades but not as forgiving as the recent Neo blade craze in Japan. The feel of the retail model is hard when compared to the Nickel finish custom model yet the GD Irons are softer than both no matter what shaft you are using. If I was forced to put gauge irons down and play mizzys it would be the 32s with a custom grind for a lower center of gravity which I could guess were about 10-15% more forgiving than the retail model I had. Phillip Alexander
Guys you are just killling me. No more needs to be said. Chris I'll send you a pm with a few pertinent questions
jt916
As I suspected Chris would say. love the NC1 look and heard alot about the feel of these wonderful irons. But for me, the MP-32's are it. Most of the time when you get your hand on a new piece of gear, you'd seem to do well at the beginning but as it set into your swing, that is when you can tell if the irons fit. I tried everything for a month... my vote is the MP-32 and TM300. Have not seen any come close yet. :smile2:
