lpgaprospect
Can someone please help me out?? I currently play the Tourstage X-Blade irons. They are simply worn out.. I would like to replace them, and was wondering what changes were made & compare them to the new X-Blade II version . The new II looks awesome in pics... Looks like they have a more rounded toe now, is this true? Also is the bounce and grind the same, because they already had a winner in X-Blade I. Someone please advise me ,, 1200 is alot for set. I hope they are similar to the old school irons. Reviews & comments needed on the subject.... lpgaprospect :money:
mrzodia
i'm pretty sure they have tungsten or something in the long irons to make them easier to hit.
plus1
i previously owned a set of the x blade originals which i thought were beautiful clubs.....and i have not yet seen the newer xb2...however if i recall hearing they are a lot smaller than the originals, and will be much more of a players club with a razor thin topline with almost no offset! If you are thinking of getting a set i would highly suggest ordering of tourspecgolfer, as he can get you a custom ordered set with your specifics http://www.tourspecgolf.com/catalog/produc...products_id=675 or if you were thinkin of going down a different route i would highly recommend the gauge mb2s! forging is unreal, the angles of the clubs and especially the grinding! dcc14
+1, Did you get your MB2's yet? If so, how unreal do they look in person. I too have a set of MB2 heads on the way so I will have 2/3's of the 'Holy Gauge Trinty' Not quite there with you, but 2 out of 3 aint bad. Dave

dcc14
+1, I didn't want to replicate your bag to a T, so I was going to give the Srixon 505 a go as I seem to hit that range head (400cc - 420cc) a bit more consistently than the larger 450cc - 460cc heads. Although, your mini review has got me thinking getting both might be the ticket. lol If I did that this is what I'd look like after the wife had her way with me. :blackeye: Sorry for threadjacking lpga  Dave
+TourSpecGolfer
I honestly think the old X-blades were quite more forgiving than the new model. The new 05's remind me of the MR-23 blades, great to work but a terror if your ball striking is off. In regards to ViQ 450 vs the W505, The ViQ is more forgiving on shots missed on toe to heel while the 505 had a deeper face and will help you on shots hit low or high on the face. The ViQ was longer with the W60 for me than the 505 was with the Diamana. Whats odd is the stock stiff Srixon shaft is giving methe best results so far, so good im not sure if I want to put the Axiv in her yet... lpgaprospect
Thanks so much for the great info. I love the way the top-line looks, the new model appears to be rounded toe. I prefer the square looking toe. Great Job !!
plus1
yeah lpga topline is much mush thiner, and there definately is a round toe compared to the more box toe of the old version! also if i recall hearing....the sole is more narrow too....therefore it truely is much more of a players blade! beautiful looking clubs but you gota be playing everyday IMO! i was going to order a set of chris but then the mb2s popped up and i thought....these will give me the look of a blade, with thinner topline and less offset yet the same old GD forgiveness! please do let us all know what set you choose!!! lpgaprospect
Are the gauge blades as great a quality as the putters they are making? Chas
plus1
all of gauges irons are just as unique as their putters! the quality is top notch and IMO is unmatched even by the likes of tourstage!!!!!! If you were considering gauge design, since you are used to the x blades i would recommend either the 05 mbs or the new mb2s!
